All of this should be coming in the Live Letter in September. They've also said there's going to be a media tour, though what that'll look like with COVID being what it is is anybody's guess. Last time around there were a couple websites that were invited to the media tour and got screenshots of all the ability tooltips; hopefully someone can do that again.

It's always fun seeing how long it takes the next quest NPC to show up after each step of the event questline on the first day. And then trying to find them under the sea of names once they do load.

So I am back at my computer, let's talk about this. First off Alisaie is my favorite scion. Her arc in shadowbringers is fucking beautiful and her voice actress nails everything. I also adore how it is obvious but not overbearing that her and Alphy are madly in love with the WoL and would go to the depths of hell for them

Emet-Selch is just great. Always in control, just amazing voice acting work and strikes the right chord every time. I could feel his conviction every step of the way and it made him a fantastic antagonist.

But then... the trailer lines started. Then the last of the scions were cut down. Then the hollow line about becoming the warrior of darkness, which had confused me, became true. Then our WoL gets a voiced line! All of that part was just so fucking amazing.

And yes, I chose What, all by myself?

Was watching Asmongold finish Heavensward the other day, I totally don't remember anything from 3.1-3.5, particularly the warrior of darkness showing up

My favorite Scion used to be Alphinaud, but I think now it's gone to Thancred and his big dad energy.

Shadowbringers ending is 10/10 stuff.

At the current point in the story, every Scion is A++. One of the best things about Shadowbringers is how much of a glowup it gave all out main characters except Lyse lol.

Alphinaud and Alisiae are still the absolute worst. And Tataru is dead weight.

And Urianger's voice actor and speech mannerisms ruin him.

It's really just Y'shtola and Thancred carrying the group

Just did the first trial of Stormblood (Susano). That was quite a fun fight. I think 6/8 of us were new to that one. Definitely went fairly long, but only one run. I died to lightning right after firing off the LB3 to kill him lol

I did the 4.3 trial last night, Tsukuyomi. Wiped a couple times in the third phase but were able to get it after that.

Also finished T1-9 through PF. Definitely some cool moments. Just need to find time to get T10-13 done.

It really comes into its own at 60. This is definitely the Job where I feel the most suffering from being synced down below 60.

God forbid I get synced down to a level where I can't even fish for Fire 3 procs from the trait, or worse have to start using TRANSPOSE outside of Flare recovery again.

Levelled up SMN to 80 this weekend!!

Still not sure how I feel about the job... summoning Bahamut and Phoenix feel good, but the rest of the job feels like a random assortment of different stuff. I'm very interested to see what this supposed Endwalker overhaul has in store.

SMN has had a very weird progression through the game's history, because it's a series of systems building on top of each other rather than funneling into a single cohesive system. In ARR it specialized in dots and pet damage, then in HW they added Dreadwyrm Trance and that was your big burst window, then in StB they added Bahamut and downplayed the importance of Dreadwyrm Trance, and now you have Phoenix sort of tacked on to the Bahamut system. It's all so ramshackle that I can't help feeling like the job is due for a radical redesign of some sort in Endwalker, and it's certainly not helped by how unresponsive pet AI can be at times.

SMN went through minor reworks each time they added something though, and I actually think they have arrived at a good spot for it. It already had a significant overhaul in Stormblood and I think Shadowbringers smoothed it out.

The setup is a little complicated and like you said it really is a bunch of different systems stacked on top of each other, but when played properly it actually flows super well. All the systems form a 2-minute loop, the trances help you keep your dots up, so you get 30 seconds of DWT and Bahamut, 30s of filler, 30s of Phoenix, 30s of filler.

All of Crystal has been made Preferred.

Keep in mind that Crystal is by no means a low population data center. A recent unofficial census (Charted here: https://twitter.com/Bwin4L/status/1416718929309884419) had it as the most active NA DC.

My understanding is that Crystal is primarily known for being the RP data center, so I'm sure they'll be less than pleased by a floor of normies!

Eh, from what I hear it's an actual problem on Crystal that the raid scene is pretty dead. Anecdotally I know people who had to transfer off the data center because they had issues running content or didn't like the vibe as people started to abandon the servers. They could stand to absorb some WoW converts.
