2 years later I'm finally doing all the level 80 class quests. >_> Done about half of them now. I apparently also need to finish some Crystalline Mean questlines too. <_<

Well, my Resistance Weapons are all done, finally. I'm about 180mil mettle from finishing my Honors, and I still want to do the duels; especially Sart so I can get that last field note.

That's out of 1079 total, 1070 of which are actually obtainable, 1068 of which are still obtainable today, 1061 of which are realistically obtainable, and 1055 of which I'm willing to try getting. 55 to go!

Just did some Inventory Management (Ultimate) for a couple hours. Only managed to tackle one retainer of 3, and even then I kinda half assed the final page. And I haven't even really touched my own inventory or armory chest. >_> I found items from like HW and StB and was like "whoa! I remember this!" *desynth* lol

I remember one day when Rioka checked one of his retainers and found a cookie. From 1.0. We both laughed.

Productive evening! Finished all the Crystalline Mean questlines and the capstone quest. And then I finished the followup questline to the Shadowkeeper questline, which I didn't even know about. I was just in the vicinity and saw there was a level 80 quest from that NPC and was like "Oh?". So that was cool. Then I farmed Memoria for a bit and got some dyable gear. And I even managed to do a little more inventory management on the side.

So I left WoW shortly after the release of Shadowlands. I wasn't feeling it leading up to it and after leveling my main to max, I just wasn't having fun. I milled about a bit playing other stuff but finally decided to try an MMO again, I decided to hop back into LotRO and also try FFXIV. I dusted off LotRO and turned out I had a copy of FF14 still not sure where I got it maybe a Humble Bundle?

I started playing both, this was in June. Being a huge Lord of the Rings fan I was actually leaning towards choosing LotRO after playing both, I just wasn't feeling FF14. I think partly as many WoW players may have trouble with ARR and I wasn't used to all the damn dialogue in my MMOs lol. But I was definitely also not feeling my job (Pug) and I was about to uninstall FF14 but as fate would have it.. I got some life threatening health complications and ended up in the ICU, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01sLOBjcWYw I was out of action nearly a month unable to play anything, while I was out of action a certain famous malding WoW streamer I loved also started playing FF14, and by pure chance ended up on the server I play on.

After finally getting back to the point I could sit in a chair without feeling like death. I wanted to play again, being the great exodus had occured and everyone was praising FF14 at this point (late july/early august) I decided to give 14 another shot. I tried the character I already had but still wasn't feeling it. I decided to start fresh try a new character and a new job. I decided to try and do as close as I could to what I loved doing in WoW. That was A. Hunter and B. Fishing. My WoW character Seabeard was super themed anything Sea or Fishing related and I spent many wasted but fun hours fishing for no reason lol.

So I decided to pay homage to a certain Legendary Fisherman and also my fun as a hunter.. I chose Archer/Bard. I started immediately getting "hooked". I was level 80 Fisher before my Bard was even out of his 30s lol. I also finally started getting into the storyline (MSQ) and found myself becoming more attached to this new world. I had a character I enjoyed a Theme I always enjoyed and the Bard class I really find fun. I've been playing nearly every day since. Despite all the time playing though I'm still only just entering Stormblood just this passed Sunday. Though I do stop to fish all the damn time for fun and profit and Triple Triad and Hildebrand. I just bought an apartment this last weekend as well! Blew all my money on it and some furnishings.

Also while the delay is disappointing, ultimately it won't matter. And actually, the delay is probably a good thing in the long run. A better experience, and also Savage won't come out on Christmas now.

I'd be 100% fine with the delay if it wasn't for my job, and the fact I won't be able to push back my PTO. So I will be able to enjoy the first day of early access, and only the first day, before needing to get back to... :vomit: ...adulting.

I feel bad that those that took some time off for it, got messed up here. There have been games I've done the same for in the past, but such things do happen. You know as awful as Yoshi P visibly felt to announce this delay it had to be important. This is this storylines grand finale he wants it to be as best it can be even further pressure with all the new fresh eyes on the game. FF14 is in the spot light right now in the MMO genre. That's some big pressure.

For me it works to my advantage as it gives me a couple more weeks to advance the MSQ, though as slow as I am I still may not make it I basically have a month to get through Stormblood and Shadowbringers now. But I don't intend to rush it, I will continue to stop and fish and such as I feel the desire too. Though even my fishing urges me to progress the MSQ at times because certain job abilities are locked away until I can get to them in each expansion which requires me to progress to do so. Like right now I have the quest that will reward Double Hook (FINALLY) which should allow me to finally be able to get those 16k and 20k ocean fishing achievements but its still locked via MSQ because the location is still locked to me to continue the quest. .

Oh is that a Stormblood skill? I pretty much always finish MSQ first before I level crafters/gatherers. :X

yeah its been a long time coming finally got it along with like a hundred spear/gig fishing abilities. Double hook costs a lot of GP, I feel like I never have enough lol.

FFXI had big ole' update yesterday/today

basically added even more ways to level up with "master levels" after your job is already mastered from job points

base stats and combat/magic skills up for every master level, and every 5 master levels you get on a job raises the cap on your subjob, which is a huge change

Grind for grind's sake, on one hand, but good gods... The amount of time and effort you have to put into making your preferred job(s) actually feel powerful in XI is kind of nuts.

Holy shit. Blizzard is just straight up aping Endwalker. They announced that 9.2 is the "end of the story arc established in WarCraft III". They literally went. "Oh wait yeah us too, we're also wrapping up a decade long story arc! No, TWO decade long arc! Yeah that was clearly planned!" It's one thing to be an imbecile. It's another to treat your audience like imbeciles. They are just incapable admitting they fucked it up.

All those retcons, all those novelizations not enough people cared for, all the original devs and writers who had jumped ship, and all those backhanded turns from established lore or character motives; Acti-Blizz expects people to believe 9.2 will be the culmination of all events since Warcraft 3? Like I said in another topic, if I was more certain ATVI would once again plummet by January, I would place more bets against them once I'm done potentially raising funds through a share of another company. Keep in mind that, a week and a half ago, Acti-Blizz fell from about 80 a share to 66 a share overnight, which was nice for anyone who had bet against them beforehand.

Imagine earning several hundred, in gains, for flipping the bird at a company you don't like. <_<

But yeah, it's clear with Acti-Blizz's claims of reaching the climax of their flagship's "plot" is an attempt to take the wind out of FFXIV's sails. FFXIV isn't even trying to sink WoW; in fact, it's telling other boats in the area to stop firing at the former king of online gaming. It's too bad WoW is so busy sinking itself.

At least, in less than a month, we shall get to play the FFXIV expansion that actually has been planned from the beginning.

Also: Ul'dah's Syndicate would probably be facepalming hard at Acti-Blizz right now, Lolorito possibly thinking of, shall we say, rescuing certain assets. Actually, Rowena might consider it as well. Maybe she'd rehire the ladies from there and rename them with -na names for their protection.

With that, the need to be a specific race for a job should be non-existent for the hardest content currently available, and the demand for specific jobs as opposed to allowing any job that can fit a role should be decreased. lol... This is FFXI we're talking about, where the community puts on a friendly front until it is time to do harder stuff; then you better be a META min-maxer or you're a waste of time and space. <_<

Eh, we've dragged at least 8 useless leeches through 18man reisen helms before, so at least in 18 person content if you are well geared enough and know what you're doing you can bring along other newbies to help them out.

The newest "hard" though with rank 15 odyssey bosses is only 6 man content so every body counts. Which is a bummer for sure. I much prefer alliance content.

Alrighty. It is less than two weeks before Early Access. Go grab your Wondrous Tails for the week, complete it, and hold onto it until the 3rd for some potential exp. =)
