I'm playing through Roche's path and it's pretty cool just how different it is from Iorveth. From my vague memories, this side seems more concerned with the politics of the greater human world, and has that sense of futility to it that the books have. It also feels a lot more connected to the inciting event of the story in the prologue.

Vergen, by contrast, feels a lot more like a normal fantasy story where the good guys can win over evil. The real bit of intrigue over there are the machinations of Eilhart, but following around Saskia and her idealistic followers is just a much more hopeful story, I guess. But it is far less likely Geralt, or frankly anybody else, would choose this path imo.
