I don't make a lot of money, but have been saving to go to Europe so I have more money than I usually do. I've got about 6k in cash, 2k in crypto.

About 11k. Which is high for me. Usually have like 7k at the start of the month (I get paid once a month) and 3k at the end. But turns out work fucked up my pay and they finally caught it nearly 2 years later so they reimbursed me what the owed me. Kinda irritates me that happened but happy they fixed it considering I hadnt noticed.

Long story short night shift gets paid more but they had me on day shift pay

How much do you think the average person has? You've never worked full time? Have your parents helped you out financially?

Me, around 15k. For me, that's the most I've ever had so far, and it's mostly because I saved a lot thanks to corona.

Idk, I thought 20k a year is like a base low level salary that people have, so to have a little more than that saved in total isn't much. But I guess most people spend all the money to live and don't bank any of it?

Nope, if that means over 40 hours a week. Right now I'm working 32 hours. My parents give me some money occasionally, like on my birthday or to pay for medical expenses.

For perspective when I say 11k just so y'all know my cost of living. Not counting grocieries all my bills including paying my moms car bill adds up to roughly 1900 bucks a month. I rent a house not an apartment some peoples apartment rent in this country cost more than all my bills combined

Yeah had a co worker who came from Cali said he bought a house here for 170k said same house would have easily gone for 700k in Cali.

Cost of living differences are insane. So before anyone sees someones post here and think its not a lot consider it might be plenty where they live

Same.

Don't have enough to retire, but I have invested enough that I'll actually be able to retire when the time comes.

About $3000 in the bank (technically about $5000 but mortgage hasnt come out yet)

$12,000 in investments

$53,000 in home equity

-$8900 in auto loans
-$12500 in medical debt

wooo

Starting a new job soon though, gonna be bringing home about $600 more per month than I do now.

its also rather misleading because savings accounts havent been worth using for a long time (since around 2008). The federal reserve interest rates have basically been close to 0 since then so even the best savings accounts today pay like 0.5% so any significant amount of money is better off in a brokerage or retirement account invested in stonks or crypto.

For example, my only savings account has only 2k in it (opened it in 2005) but I never bother putting anything in or taking it out (basically an emergency fund reserved for a bad enough situation that I would have to tap into it)

Ok, Im truthfully not sure. I know how much is in the savings account but dont manage the brokerage account (my husband does, hed let me manage it if I wanted but I have no interest in it).

Lets say were better off than most. Both cars were purchased in cash and house is paid off.
