Not Final Fantasy, but the same concept.

  • 4 Random Heroes of Light
  • Job Classes
  • Beat 4 Bosses for 4 Crystals in order to face the Big Bad
  • Random world, dungeons, loot, mobs, side-quests/events
  • Perma death, of course.
  • Turn-based Combat

FF5 - Ancient Cave mod is pretty much this.

Lufia 2 template in the sphere of FF5. Classes, equipment, spells are all gained in chests in a procedurally generated dungeon that culminates in a last floor boss.
