I like how in the GCN version, Kratos is technically better because he has Judgment while Zelos can't ever get it.

But in the PS3 version, Zelos is better because he now gets Judgment and 2 secret artes that Kratos can't get.

It gets you every treasure chest, side quest, title, and affection event. The only problem is that it missed some women for Zelo's Gigolo title. But that title is glitched anyway >_> And you get it without speaking to all the women. I think it also missed a couple of monsters but none of those were permanent.

2nd playthrough onwards is literally just getting whatever item/title from the Flanoir Doctor event. Or getting Kratos for a playthrough and doing all his shit.

I 100% the PS3 version a long time ago. I love Symphonia for the most part but 4 or 5 playthroughs to 100% was ridiculous.

I dunno, the game is biased towards Colette/Genis/Raine because they're in your party since the beginning pretty much.

In order to be BFFs with anyone else for the Flanoir event you have to actively repel them.

I remember missing Collette's flanoir scene each of my first two playthrough because her character annoyed me and I didn't realize that the choices for answers actually affected anything.

Collette still annoys the hell outta me tbh. At least for the first half of the game.

In Symphonia Dawn of the New World canonically Lloyd doesn't end up with anyone, however there is a side quest involving him that lets you choose a partner for him as if they were his best friend / companion and the ones involving Colette, Raine, Sheena and Presea are all romantic.

You don't have to be that much of a jerk. You'll have to do some out of character responses in Sylvarant, but from then on it's not bad at all as long as you know which events and responses boost Zelos up. I'd say you don't have to be a jerk at all, even, unless you want Zelos at Dirk's House.

It's definitely faster, and he has less much less endlag at the end of combos compared to Kratos. It's more noticeable if you actively play as either character.

Zelos' regular no input regular attack is a bit faster than Kratos', but Kratos' no input regular attack covers a bit more range to his right side and even his back and can work better defensively against more than one enemy. Kratos' down input regular attack is a bit faster than his no input regular attack. With aerial attack related EX Skills Kratos can easily match Zelos' speed because his aerial attacks come out as fast as Lloyd and Zelos. Endgame Kratos has a easily spammable Shining Bind(Kratos' Shining Bind doesn't require Overlimit to activate) trivializes groups of regular enemies and can give you a nice advantage at the beginning of boss fights too. Endgame Zelos can get the OP Gilgamesh title(Tower of Druaga reference) which gives him big HP, ATK and DEF increases on level up.

Optimal builds for Kratos involve making him balanced with his Conqueror title, or going as much into INT as possible with his War God title for stronger Aerial Spell spam. Optimal build for Zelos is making him mainly physical with the Gilgamesh title, but if you want better more TP and higher INT for Aerial Spell damage then use the Grand Champion title. That said, I prefer Kratos as a character and spamming Shinning Bind feels amazing endgame, but the Gilgamesh title is too OP and gives Zelos a considerable edge when it comes to his ATK and DEF growth on New Game + playthroughs.

Where are you getting 5 playthroughs from? One for Collette, one for Kratos, one for Zelos. Nobody else gives you a unique item.

Make sure you get the cooking title and colosseum titles for Kratos on the playthrough you pick him. One playthrough can be the challenge one where you get the titles for low level and not using gels and stuff, and the third can be a playthrough where you power yourself up enough to get the no dying before the 5th seal and all the other colosseum titles.

It might be tricky to line up the beach outfits properly, but you can just choose the person you have the least affection with, and you can easily skyrocket Regal into your top 3 because his events give like double affection.

i applaud him if he's trying for the 100%. very few helpful guides out there that help the trophy collector

it's supposed to get easier yet mentally taxing as he does runs since the grade he earns carry's over to the next round.

I'm just curious where that 4th one is coming from.

I usually do about 3/4th of a run at a time. I'll pick up in the middle of one, and stop in the middle of the next. Then I'll break for a couple months or more. I did eventually 100% it, and paired with everyone at least once. I was working on getting every character to have an ex gem max in all 4 slots. But that takes 18 playthroughs (assuming a very healthy grade sum) unless you get extremely lucky in the nifilhelm book (apparently plaything through the entire game takes less time than grinding for two from the torches).

In GCN version it was just Zelos, Colette, and Kratos.

But in the PS3/PC version, they added titles/costumes for everyone. 1 requires you to choose Regal at the Flanoir event and another requires you to choose Genis at the Flanoir event.

So you have to choose Colette, Zelos, Kratos, Genis, and Regal to get everyone's titles >_>

Presea gets her extra costume with Genis's event and Sheena gets her extra costume from Zelo's event (but not vice versa for either of them for some reason).Raine gets her costume from a casino prize. And everyone else gets their extra costumes from their respective Flanoir events

I got the no gel, wooden swords only, no running away, and no dying titles all at once on my 1st playthrough, and I got low level on my 2nd playthrough. I did Kratos and got all of his titles >_>

If you want to be technical, it is 4 runs + a run until you get to the Flanoir event.

But that event is LITERALLY like 95% through the game! It might as well be 5 runs >_>
