I went with LINK, as I actually intend to sell it this holiday season to pay for a Disney trip.

as far as moonroof, you enjoy the 30%. if you sold now because you feel like this is the highest it will be in the next few years, I think you should have sold around 48-50k when BTC re-tested recent highs and didn't break resistance.

I do agree with being scared of crypto because of government black swan events. Part of me thinks I should sell it all this holiday season if BTC does indeed take off. The amount of people who suddenly care about the environment because they are upset that they don't have BTC is going to mesh well with the government feeling pretty much the same way.

It's not current just yet, I only said it was going current. Even when the last filings drop, it will still be a waiting game for brokerages to reopen buying. I would expect buying to resume late next week. If you want it sooner, open an IBKR account.

You really should have! I threw 40k into my new IBKR (went to the bank personally to wire it so I could buy asap), put it all in GVSI last week, and have about doubled my money in the account in no time. This stock is already my biggest win by such a huge amount now and there's not even a company attached yet lol. The future looks bright.

54k of realized gains, so yes! (And now almost 17k more of unrealized.) That's why I say it's my biggest trade ever, because ultimately nothing is real until you sell. What's funny though is if I had just held my double zeroes and never flipped, I'd be way higher. At this point, I'm not selling anymore until the merger is announced.

Well, going part time at work helped a lot! I just work on weekends now, so I have an unfair advantage over most people. When I first went part time, I was definitely putting in full time hours in stock research, but I got burned out pretty quickly. Plus, I found these George Sharp trades/custodianship plays in general in late April and they became by far the most fascinating trades I've found in the market. I picked two slow ones; some of the ones I was looking at have already merged and gone from being worthless to 30 cents plus. But if GOFF and GVSI do what I think they can do, I'll still have chosen wisely. And if they don't, well, I already won with GVSI.

That said, there are so many ways to improve yourself in the market. I really want to put a ton of time into really learning technical analysis soon. I certainly don't think it's necessary and many great investors ignore it all together, but it is still a tool that can help you improve. Any additional tool is useful.

Just shy of 1.8 million shares.

Previously I'd always maintained a base position of 2 million, though I would flip it, so there would be times I had under a million shares. I more recently had 2.4 million and sold some without reinvesting to diversify into the other Sharp plays (GOFF and SRNW). But then I only bought GOFF. Never got a good dip buy opportunity on SRNW. It's the highest market cap already so less potential for gains from a merger. It does however have an absurdly low float, and I love me some low float stocks.

Here's hoping SRNW isn't the first one to get a merger. That would be something else! But as of today, it's the only where filings haven't been confirmed.

Plays like this are obviously all about the custodian, their record, and how much faith you have in them to bring a good asset into the dead ticker. And well, we'll know if I'm right soon enough, but I have a lot of faith in Sharp based on his record.

Check out the discord chat about the rumors (might have to scroll back a bit, but check the George Sharp channel). Current rumors are crypto.com/something SWAPP affiliated, and these rumors are particularly interesting because SWAPP has retweeted tweets about GVSI multiple times, and Sharp has said nothing. Sharp worked for the OTC Markets directly for a decade as a scam investigator, which is maybe the biggest reason I trust him so much, even over his HMBL merger. He's called out BS and pumpers for his own tickers before (literally did it for GVSI not that long ago, just echoing not to buy because someone is pumping), but has mentioned nothing about this. Very unlike him if the rumors are completely fabricated.

Personally, I won't believe it until I see it, but it's very interesting to say the least. I've made enough money here now that I've won either way, so I'm done flipping and I'm waiting for the merger. Reminder that Sharp's last custodianship, TSNP which became HMBL, made millionaires from $10,000 investments. It's hard to believe, but it happened. And HMBL was announced only 8 days after going pink current.

A few more things to keep in mind: while it seems like GVSI has a heavy float, it's actually half that of TSNP's. And most people sold HMBL on the announcement or the ticker change, but it wasn't until the first investor meeting a month later that it rocketed past a dollar all the way to $1.92. Lots of GVSI investors are people who got rich off HMBL, so I doubt they'll be selling this one too soon with a good enough company.

Finally, I just checked and GVSI's market cap is currently $134,703,156 at the current price. Ludicrously high for a worthless ticker, almost a 20 bagger from here for a $2 billion company.

You did say really long term though, and my analysis was still fairly short sighted. But yeah, crazy custodianship gains are normally from buying the speculation and selling the legit stock shortly after the merger is finished. Years out, I would be interested to see how HMBL does in the really long term. Wall Street analysts were hyping it up but since its rise and the 1:4 reverse split, it's been rough for investors who bought a bit after the merger. Never did enough research on it to say it confidently, but I imagine it will probably still be a good investment very long term.

Vanguard received my transfer putting me at $331k. I tried selling 19 puts on Disney at $172.50 ($2,500 premium) but my order got rejected, looks like the money needs to settle longer even though its a margin account. Strange.

Agreed, but it's different depending on how you transfer the money. This is why I wired 40k (which is soooo close to doubled now, 78k) and it was available instantly. Even ACH deposits apparently take a day on IBKR? Those are are available in like 15 minutes on TD.

And yeah, I'm loving the steady climb up! At this rate, this has to pop or come close to 10 cents when everyone can actually buy.

I mean, the funds got there in a day after I logged in directly. It just says I cant buy anything for a week. I swear you can on Vanguard as soon as they arrive but just not take the money out until.it settles.

That's even more dumb. I'm not sure why that is. I was able to buy the same day I wire transferred my money. What method did you use to deposit the funds?

I thought I chose the fastest based off their chart, it looked like it should have just been a day. It was where you choose your bank and login to it from the IBKR site and you transfer directly.

Wire transfers are the most reliable because the money is actually there in seconds. ACH transfers happen overnight so if your broker lets you trade immediately they are really extending you credit based on the ACH order having been submitted.

I think it was just a Chinese bank vowing to crackdown on illegal crypto transactions

But man the $5 2023 put looks nice at $0.60. If RIOT drops to $2 you're looking at a 6 bagger. Totally plausible if btc crashes considering it was hovering around there before the bitcoin surge.

Think I figured out IBKR, I was doing a pull ACH vs. a Push ACH. That should mean it's available when received from my bank which should be Monday. Hope it doesn't run up too much more.
