There were more people in bowling league in the 80s than the are in any sort of structured social group in America now. Purely coincidentally, depression and mental illness is way up over the same period add these decreases. Living in total disconnection from others also means you don't have support networks to depend on, and having these networks is highly correlated to better health outcomes.

It has been about a year and a half since we last went bowling. It would be fun if there weren't a pandemic currently going on...

I remember all those times my cousin called me and asked if I wanted to go and play some bowling with him.

I regret that I always declined him because he always called me when I was too busy doing something else.

Though admittedly, I never did anything important, I was always just fucking about around the city.

He just wanted to spend more time with his favourite cousin and I denied him that.
