I was going strong until the game introduced Dante with his FOUR styles in addition to the first two guys. The game feels very overwhelming to a DMC newcomer.

Funny, this is why I like 4 and 5 a lot. In 3 you had to pick one style and stay with it until the next checkpoint/level, but then when you get to control Dante in 4 he feels fucking fantastic being able to use all 4 of the default one's from 3 plus the 5th you get during the game. 5 gave me a better game for DMC4 Dante which is the only reason I like 5 the most.

The Switch port of 3 actually lets you switch styles on the fly. IIRC it's the only version that does and people are kinda mad other versions weren't updated to include it.

if you really cant handle juggling them you can use one or two and be fine just like every other dmc game

I remembered one of the remaster/ports did this, but I didn't know it was a Switch exclusive :/

I don't know about full on mentally unwell but I would definitely take 3 over it and possibly 4.
The weapon selection in 5 drags it down most for me.

I like the feel of dmc 3 better. Its a faster pace in general imo because enemies drop faster from the air. That said it is tedious af cuz aerial rave>e&i>jc spam is sorta required for dted enemy combos. This is a game i can only play in short bursts like 30 min sessions these days because i get cramped.

Dmc 5 is sorta floaty but i understand it was prob made that way to allow for more comboing. Has way more movement and attack options too than dmc 3. Probably is more fun to most people.
