Setting aside politics, if you're a fan of women's soccer, then the fact that the rest of the world is catching up to the US team is a good thing for competition. Similar to how the NBA players don't mean that the US basketball team always wins.

The USWNT is no longer able to win with relative ease which is a great thing.

Rapinoe needs to get sent down to earth more often. Just hilarious that she claims sexism is the reason she isn't paid more when sexism is the only reason she would get paid more. Her claiming sexism is an absolute lie of epic proportions that puts her in Trump's league. Funny enough that both Rapinoe and Trump have incredibly ugly hair and horrible personalities.

But yeah this should be a massive wake up call to the USWNT. It wasn't so much how good they were, but how weak their competition was. Also, this current group is aging and has gotten way too used to winning. Giving a flat performance was gonna happen eventually after their egos had become so inflated.

Except I like other sports. I simply don't like soccer. Give me that Tennis, Football, MLB, NHL, and NBA news and let me skip the soccer. Hell I'll take bowling and swimming sports news over soccer.

Soccer is going to appear in sports sections like 999% less now that they've lost, and I'm 100% good with that. Soccer needs to gtfo.

That's what I'm already doing, but less shit being thrown in front of my face the better. You seem to have trouble with the concept that more filtering = more work for me = me being happy when I don't have to do more work.

The fact you don't understand a concept that is incredibly simple and done by everyone is far more baffling.

I just saw the replay of what led to the penalty kick. I didn't realize dropkicking someone from behind gives you a penalty kick because that's what happened. It was a crap call. Team USA got screwed...

Any penalty within the box results in a penalty kick. I'm no soccer expert, but I'm unaware of any sort of penalty that could be committed outside the box that could result in a penalty kick.

The box is the large box that is formed around the goalie net. It is the larger box and not the smaller box.

Turns out they declined to accept the exact same deal the men's team had, in favor of a different labor deal structure, and out earned the men's team for the last 5 straight years in total pay and per game play.

They basically declined the men's deal, signed their own deal which greatly favored them, then sued because they didn't have the men's deal + their benefits in their labor deal structure.

But the national media didn't tell you that.

Yeah I just looked up the play. It was reviewed and called a penalty. From watching it, it looks like the US player got in front, but made contact with the Canadian player and tripped her up. I mean the Canadian was knocked off her feet and the US player kept going. That is what I saw from the play.
