I swear. Its hardly an inconvenience. Its crazy to me that its such a big deal that people would protest over it. Thats like protesting against wearing a seatbelt lol

I think the seatbelt thing is within their continuum, actually. I remember some fuss in the early 90s. Let's see if... ah, yes. 80s actually.

In the early 1980s, the public-safety battle was over seat belts. Most Americans didn't use them, and 65% opposed them being enforced by law.
"There was a libertarian streak among resistors," car-safety pioneer Ralph Nader told Business Insider. "They took the stance that 'you're not going to tie the American people up in seat belts.'"

Just a bunch of dumbasses with undiagnosed ODD.

My aunt is one of those people. She told me when they were implemented she hated them and that if it wasn't required by law she wouldn't wear one. What the FUCK

I think our society is pretty much fucked.
  • Can't get people to follow basic safety guidelines during a pandemic
  • Can't get enough people to get vaccinated to end a pandemic
  • Probably still going to be dealing with covid when the next pandemic comes along
  • Republicans in Tennessee have even tried to vaccinate kids against anything. They reversed the decision, but I wouldn't be surprised if republicans try this again.

Maybe, if enough people die that distance is maintained without effort.

the last time stuff was locked down:

only essential stores open

they highly discouraged people from neighboring county's to show up in town.

That probably explained so much why my dad "forgets" at times to wear a seat belt.

I know some idiots who still won't wear them, they go out of their way to buckle the seatbelt behind them so they don't hear the beeping noise their car makes. I can't wrap my head around the ridiculously that is people who refuse to wear seatbelts. If I'm driving a car I won't move until all passengers have them on.

Agreed. What I normally say is they absolutely need to wear their seatbelts, even if they're sitting in the back. If they don't want to, they can walk. If they don't care about their lives, fine, but they aren't about to cause extra damage to my car by bouncing around the inside of the cabin if I get in an accident.

And or if a police was to pull us over, I am not getting a ticket because a passenger didn't want to wear a seatbelt. I hope they love walking home!
