there was one time in which the alpha variant of the coronavirus was causing misery enough to cause people to lose work temporarily to allow people to easily make 800$ a week due to the bonus.

if they had 200$ a week unemployment base.

I'm really interested to know where you guys are getting these numbers of $400 + $400 bonus per week.

CARES Act provided a federal UI supplement of $600 then it was $300 (which is still ongoing today) on top of state UI benefits.

Anyone who works and has so so credit and isn't drowning in debt has the opportunity to buy a home.

Additionally, if landlords didn't exist renting wouldn't be an option, only buying. Would that not "screw" more people over who cannot afford to buy?

You forget Blackstone plays demand the supply and supply the demand! We plebs play supply and demand while the government subsidizes the rich with our money

Doesn't the stuff that says only 6% of it has been distributed mean instead of getting $400 per week, they're actually averaging $24/week? So instead of having $1600 at the end of the month to pay rent, they've got $96.

...no. You get the amount they agreed to supplement it with. Also not sure what 6% thing you're referring to and what this $400 amount is coming from.

I'm just going off this:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jul/29/eviction-moratorium-expiration-renters
"thanks to the $47bn in rental assistance the government allocated to stave off evictions.
But only 6.5% of that money has been delivered, and advocates are concerned evictions will rise next week when renters are suddenly on the hook for months, if not a year, of unpaid rent."

But that specifically mentions a rental assistance program so I don't know if that's different from CARES.

And ok 6% of $300 isn't better.

That isn't the expanded UI benefits....

Lol look how pressed this dude is to tell you that you're wrong about your own life and your own financial situation

And these are the same people making topics wondering why they don't have friends or girlfriends. Really boggles the mind

What boggles the mind is how people were receiving between $2400 and $4000+ per month for the least year and just decided not to pay their rent.

What about that are you not understanding?

I've already addressed that in my post before that one

It seems like you have an axe to grind with an oddly specific group of people

Except you didn't, at all. You went on a weird little rant and said not everyone blew their money on toys.
Fine. But again:

So.....what is the excuse then? $2400 should be more than enough to pay rent virtually anywhere.

Yeah, folks who made bank staying at home over a year and bizzarely chose not to pay their rent and now think it's some grave injustice that they're being thrown out for, yknow, not paying rent for over a year.

No, I said very clearly that not everyone received the same amount of benefits, and for whatever reason you choose to ignore that rent varies wildly from person to person. Most of the people complaining about eviction moritoriums ending are not people who purposely decided not to pay rent. That's a very specific picture you painted in your own head.

I think what you want to imagine is that everyone who doesn't agree with how the system works is a landlord-despising communist and that's just not how it works. Spend your Monday evening energy on something worthwhile.

And my figures were based off the minimum payments for a full time employee, which has already been pointed out to you.

He shitposted, without a trace of irony. Enlighten me then, why didn't they pay their rent when they had at least $2400 in free money coming in each month?

No, I'm pretty sure the reality is people squandered their Covid bucks and simply didn't pay their rent for reasons I'll never understand. You've offered literally nothing beyond "nu uh" to counter that lmao
