Well the future part of the game takes place in 2020. I've seen an e-mail exchange that mentions COVID but that's it, really.

What frustrates me is giving the illusion if choice between gender if, next game, they plan to make a choice canon.

The worst part is, they went out of their way to give these characters specific names or terms to let them stay both genders in terms of story or whatever, after all.

Ubisoft can't figure out a non-toxic work environment but they want to show me how welcoming they are by saying "so-and-so realized she was genderfluid and asked her friends to still call her by female pronouns".

Not really noticed that tbf. And in all honesty after the Romans left and gave us all there technology and such the saxons fucked it all off and went back to mud huts and dirty water.

Because it's against other white people.

If white people rape, murder, pillage, and steal the lands of non-white people that's bad and those people are genocidal murderers.

But if white people rape, murder, pillage, and steal the lands of other white people that's ok and its celebrated.

The Vikings were a bunch of raping murderers and yet they are held up as some shining example of brave and noble warriors. If we are going to change the names of sports teams for being offensive, then nothing is more offensive then a team named after a group of people whose entire existence was dedicated to rape and murder for the purpose of stealing other people's belongings and land.

I loved the game but it was weird.

Like, you can go around and burn peoples' houses down and steal their shit but if you kill them in the process you can lose progress... And the story was really non-committal about the whole thing.

Still better than Odyssey though lmao

This is one of the reasons I could never get into watching Vikings the tv show. I just never saw the vikings as some people I want to root for and romanticize their side of the story.

Get a Roku Ultra. I'm not sure what other devices let you do it, but I'm watching everything in HDR, and it's awesome.

The vikings were just trying to get new land, its not like they were only going there to raid, pillage, and rape those were just exaggerated tales by the natives.

Norse people were just sharing their unique culture with the English who were just unwilling to share their land with visitors. Its not like they were some invading army, they were explorers who were given a hostile greeting.

One could argue that the English just needed to be less hostile to foreigners. Instead of being reasonable and willing to talk the English simply attacked those innocent explorers who only had weapons for self defense.

They also explored and traded as well, the murdering rapists stereotype isnt as true as movies and games would have you believe.
