I let the other thread purge. The appointment is on August 10th. What should I expect? I feel like I'm going to be feeling extremely nervous/anxious.

Just expect the therapist to try to learn about you by asking lots of questions.

yeah, you're not really going to do any deep diving on the first appointment. that one is just for learning who you are and why you're there, so try not to stress out about it too much

Try to think of a meaningful, honest reason for why you're there and what you're hoping to gain from therapy, too. They'll def ask you that.

Its tough but try to let yourself be at ease enough to just be your honest self and give genuine answers

also something that helps me personally is to ask the therapist if theyll tell me a little bit about themself when I meet them, just so I have a rough idea of who Im talking to

Therapy is a waste of money and psychology is a pseudo science. I got baker acted and diagnosed with schizoid by one doctor and then schizophrenic by another. They all have different opinions and will talk out their asses.
