Kinda grew up with the books (and Goosebumps) as a kid, but never thought about it much after childhood

They were ok, some of the characters are just terrible though, especially in the first one. Probably has the most unlikable lead character I've seen in a while. And the music changing every two seconds gets really annoying.

Yes, it's absolutely worth it. It's very well interconnected between the 3 movies, they don't skimp on the gore, and the women are hot (especially Deena). Each of the movies look and feel authentic to the periods the events take place in, with the exception of lackof nudity, sorely missing in the 1978 segment).

Agreed lol.

They are a good love letter to supernatural slasher movies. Not perfect, and a little too predictable at times, but still well-made, and very enjoyable. The actual tie-ins with the R.L. Stine series are minimal at best, though, so dont go in expecting that.

It was fun. I hated the first 30 minutes of the first movie because it felt like all the characters were sociopaths, once the main story gets going though I enjoyed it.

The second film is probably the best one but they were all pretty decent.

As stated it's great fun if you can get past the first 20 minutes or so
