Meaning, one person answers every clue correctly, for a max "Coryat score" of $54,000. The highest ever is $39,200, by Ken Jennings.

What do you think?

Depends on when you found it. Its theoretically random right, meaning you could get it as the last question both times and therefore be able to wager the maximum amount.

then again I wouldnt be surprised if that wasnt the case, as I dont know if Ive ever seen it as the 2000$ question.

The Coryat score is named after a former contestant who devised it, and basically just takes the point values of all the clues without factoring in wagering. It's for people trying to keep track from home and measure themselves against the contestants.

THEORETICALLY the max amount winnable is 142,400 until final jeopardy.

18000 is max in the first round not counting daily double, so if the double was a 200$ question and it was last you could wager 17800 and then youd have 35600 going into the second round.

Thus 36000 without the double in the second round, if the last question was a 400$ you could wager the other 35600 as well as previous winnings which would be 71200 with a perfect first round. Thusly you go to 142,400

THEN you have final jeopardy which is a third and final wager, meaning you could potentially win 284,800 in a single game of jeopardy.

Pardon if my math is off, Im relaxing in a bathtub

It's $566,400. You're forgetting there are two DDs in the second round.

$17,800 in first round.
DD is remaining $200 clue.
Wager everything = 35,600.
Win another $35,200 in second round (minus two $400 DD clues).

Total = 70,800.
First DD in second round = 141,600.
Second DD in second round = 283,200.

Final Jeopardy = 566,400

This makes it less likely, not more likely.

All you need is 1 other contestant to get 1 question right and it's over.

Chew on this: before Holzhauer appeared on the show, the all time record for one game was $77,000. During his 33-game run, James averaged $77,000 per game.

Why, you are guaranteed to come back as long as you don't bet everything and miss. Might as well take a chance that you win more money, especially since it could be a simple final.

Fivethirtyeight did an analysis of DD placement when Holzhauer was on his run, and determined that the DD had occurred in the top row 8 times from 2001 to 2018.

It's been three years since then, so another couple of instances might have happened. I know one for certain was on November 24, 2020.

possible but don't think it would happen.
i think it would take a returning dominant champ like Ken or James.
they would need to start off hot and have their opponents basically give up early in the first round so it becomes a game of the contestant against the board rather than also 2 other players.
