It's not a sequel. The first one was disliked so they're already rebooting it with some of the same actors. They seem to really want to make it a success so they can milk it.

All I really know is that we are getting Capaldi as a Super Villain. Hoped for one in Marvel to continue the trend, but I guess Matt would have to go first anyway.
