Do you find it suspicious that the other 3-4 people at that screening did not see or hear anything?

19 y/o Joseph Jiminez was arrested for the murder of 18 y/o Rylee Goodrich who was with her friend and Tik Tok Star in Anthon Barajas at a screening of Forever Purge in California!!

Witness statements connected the shooting to him where only SIX people were in the theatre based on ticket sales as police said they don't believe he knew the victims nor have a motive yet

Police found a firearm and additional evidence at his residence and he is booked on charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery and is held on 2 million bail

Barajas, a TikTok star is on life support while his friend died at the scene in the almost empty theatre

Anthony is in critical condition after being shot while his friend died when she was shot in the according to police

Barajas TikTok fame had no connection to the shooting adn while they can't rule it out they are not sure what caused the murderse as Jiminez has no prior criminal history

There was no surveillance footage at the theatre and only six tickets were sold where staff found the victims while cleaning out the auditorium.

It's unclear if the 4 other people who attended the screening realized what had happened or if moviegoers were involved

Ashley Cole, Goodrich's cousin said the family is having trouble it was a random attack and don't understand how other people in there with only 6 in the theatre did not know what had happened

Forever Purge tells the story of Mexican immigrants targeted by vigilantes during an annual US government "purge" for 12 hours but law breaking citizens continued to purge after it ended

The theatre who closed on Tuesday but gave out free tickets for when it reopens

A Gofundme page was launched for Goodrich who attended the Grand Canyon University on a STEM scholarship and is remembered as a gentle spirit and kind hearted person.

Barajas is known as @itsanthonymichael to his million followers and his last video was of him enjoying a family vacation in Hawaii

it's entirely plausible that the dude shot during a gun fight happening on-screen. it'd be pretty difficult to tell what a real gunshot vs a movie shot would be

I somehow doubt somebody could make that mistake.

Yeah, a real gunshot fired off in a movie theater wouldn't sound ANYTHING like a gunshot from the movie.

You guys must go to some really shitty movie theaters. There are some screens that are massive (not including IMAX). With these larger screens requires larger and louder sound systems. It's not hard to understand how you would completely disregard a real gunshot for an on-screen one if you have been to a Cinemark XD or IMAX showing.

Sound not even being a concern, how would you see a gunshot if you are in a completely different part of the theater? What if the suspect was behind you?

Y'all need to go out more or just use your imaginations instead of just saying "nah impossible".

You also are not taking into account moviegoers themselves. Maybe they're hard of hearing or old or demented or thought they heard something but chalked it up to the movie. They could literally have been sleeping when the gunshots happened. My wife slept straight through most of 1918 in the movie theater. How the fuck you sleep through a movie where there are loud ass explosions and gunshots throughout I will never understand.

You sound like you know theaters pretty well, but have you fired many guns?

And you think the sound from a gun going off in the room with you is similar to what you hear from guns in a theater?!

Yes? People have called the cops on their neighbors thinking the sounds from their movies/video games are real gunshots. And I doubt those people had commercial grade premium sound equipment in their houses and were blasting at a high volume.

Why is it so hard to imagine that people in a movie theater would not be able to discern a real gunshot from one they are expecting one to hear on-screen?

I think people are just repeatedly attempting to make a flawed argument. There are a lot of people who have never heard a gun shot in real life before.

A real gun going off inside a building, even in a large open room like a theater, would be extremely loud and noticeable.

It's literally a small explosion; it's not just volume, but pressure
