Enough time has passed since the pain of the final season, and Ive actually kinda moved on. I have accepted that the ending of Dexter exists. And that its fucking terrible. But lets be honest the show had been going down hill for years. And its been almost 10 years since Ive last seen Dexter Morgan. KodyKeir 07/27/21 11:01:21 PM #7:	The books were mostly decent, you could see where the show started to stray from the source material in season one and it diverged into it's own thing from season two on. The shows finale was kinda true to the source material, in that the ending to the book series also sucked, like the authour said "Fuck it, I've got a deadline to meet and I already burned through my advance". The show left out some of the more supernatural aspects of the books (really would have like to see the Moloch Cult adapted to the screen) but I still enjoyed both overall. Looking forward to this new season, would be nice if they could find a way for Jennifer Carpenter to return too; they did Deb dirty on the show. Addendum: Oh, Shit! I just learned there is another novel "Dexter is Dead" that came out in 2015. "Dexter: The Final Cut" was supposed to be the last but I guess the authour realized how shitty it was to end it the way they did. Hes just a serial killer with a whole backstory built up around making a character that is evil but that the viewer can forgive themself for liking them.
