About time. Everyone knew as soon as they said masks off if you are vaccinated people were going to lie. We knew this from the condoms/sex honor system. Where people with STDs would never admit it they just go trust me im clean.

Pretty much. Like... I get the intent of the honor system, but we had people being blatantly dishonest the whole time

On one hand, most of you are right in that the honor system never, ever works; everyone involved actually has to have honor for it to be successful. However, enough people point to the CDC as their behavioral influence that it does make a difference (hence why public mask wearing dropped off a cliff almost overnight when they made their disastrous no-mask announcement).

Hopefully this will slowly allow mask culture to start taking over again where it counts the most - groceries, stores, and other large gathering places. So hopefully we'll be back to the majority masking up in these places just in time for the CDC to shoot themselves and the rest of us in the foot all over again :/

You are 100% right. What you have to understand is that there is literally nothing that can be done to force people to take the vaccine. As much as I wish people would just get fucking vaccinated, by in large you cannot force people to put things in their bodies. Yes, some professions and establishments are outright banning the unvaccinated but its a battle that the antivaxxers will "win". They will literally die on that hill.

As a teacher I'm really not looking forward to this.

I've been taking COVID Seriously since the start. I wore a mask at school every day, wiped down tables between class periods, avoided close contact, did fucking "hybrid" learning, and gave up a lot of (paid) extracurriculars. I got fully vaccinated in April and continued all of the above until the school year was done.

Now I'm being punished for the actions of the rightwing propaganda campaign? Fucking christ.

They haven't won though? The Texas hospital and Yale (I think) won suits against their mandatory vacation policy. On a broader scale public education works this same way - children have to be immunized to attend.
