I picked before reading the intent. I assumed this was "not as great as people like to talk about," at which point Reagan is easily the answer. Still might be correct in the context of the poll, but I can see arguments for a number of other choices.

I went with Reagan because he was a monster who was directly responsible for many of the worlds current problems and killed hundreds of thousands of gay people but gets dismissed as just another president but after reading the first post it may actually be Woodrow Wilson. How on Earth do people rate him that highly?

Andrew Jackson is another good one because of all the genocide.

What's so awful about Wilson other than being super racist? Obviously that's terrible, but that was also kind of expected for the time and his other policies look fine. Am I missing something?

Well, he insisted the US stay out of WWI, up until the point where we had basically no choice but to get involved, and our late involvement made for a shoddy resolution to the conflict. Roosevelt wanted to get involved much sooner, but he lost the election, so so much for that.

Also, he did absolutely nothing to help the country during the 1918 pandemic. Never even spoke about it publicly. The states were left to fend for themselves. Not only that, but the government told the media to downplay the virus so that our enemies overseas wouldn't think they had the upper hand (which made even more Americans die as a result).

Sorting the ranking by the most current iteration and definitely Reagan. People raise good points about Wilson but Reagan ended up higher on the list and I think I'd drop him further into the basement anyway.
