Nintendo has been releasing 'reports' on Metroid Dread every 15 days. Most of it is recapping stuff we already know, but there's tidbits of new info and new screenshots in them. What they choose to focus on is also pretty interesting, presumably giving hints as to what the game will be about. And it is funny how they completely avoid mentioning Other M lol.

Just giving folks a heads up in case you didn't know about these, I only saw them today! Could be fun to speculate on.

That first one already kinda torpedos the Samus is escaping the Federation theory, it seems she went to the planet at the request of the Federation.

Yeah that's what i was thinking as well. Guess they're willing to overlook her blowing up the BSL station after all she's done for them.

Other M kinda backtracked the evil federation plotline a bit by making it more clear that the issue is an evil faction within the Federation and not just the whole Federation itself.

Woulda loved Samus being hunted by other bounty hunters tho. Always appreciated that aspect of Hunters, and even Corruption 3's take.

I've always been a fan of the evil Federation stuff myself, Metroid works best when Samus is alone without backup support. There's plenty of room for twists here, maybe the Federation wants the EMMIs to off Samus!

It's worth noting that the EMMI log says they are 'seemingly' corrupted. It's possible they actually haven't been corrupted at all and just see Samus as a threat because she's part X/Metroid at this point.

Metroid is their most 'western' property though really, so who knows!

Yeah they said this in Treehouse at E3, this is being pushed as the final chapter of the Metroid 1-5 saga. It could just be a marketing technique that doesn't ultimately mean much, but that's what they're going for!
