Ive definitely become a lot more reserved after entering the work force. Idk if its just a natural progression for me, or just because Ive had a string of miserable bosses who exist just to suck the life out of the room.

I'm less anxious around people in general. It's far from gone, but I can now actually go through the line at a grocery store without issue.

Also I've been standing up for myself a lot more.

But in all seriousness, why do you have trouble with it? Your Anxiety is that bad?

I mean I'm not the biggest Social Butterfly, but if I get that way by being in a Store, I usually just leave and go somewhere else if possible

Not a lot. My hair might be a little thinner at the front (I'm honestly not sure, it just doesn't style the same as it used to) and I have a few stray gray hairs in my beard.

I'm much better at teaching now. I was only 6 months into the career 5 years ago.

I was just getting ready to move into my current apartment 5 years ago.

My interest in video games is lower than it used to be. I blame No Man's Sky, which came out almost exactly 5 years ago.

Talk to anyone who works in a prison. The job will change you for better or worse depending on how you look at it. Gives you a what id call a healthy amount of paranoia where as said you pay a lot more attention to whats going on around you. You dont like people walking too close behind you and a lot of things

Yeah, that bugs me a lot too. Had to tell some woman who was RIGHT on top of my ass on the line at walmart. Can only imagine what the fear of getting shanked will do to you.

Yeah.i was playing video games the other day and out of my periphial noticed a car pull up and stop perfectly lined up with the window I was sitting next too and my imediate thought went to the gangbanger (ms13) who threatened to have me killed and I went well maybe I need to move away from this window for a minute.

Turns out it was my neighbor (was like 2 in the morning so due to dark I didnt instantly recognize his car) going somewhere for some reason and decided to stop his car so he could walk back and check his mail. He does weird shit. Probably drunk.

It is, or I guess it was. I still struggle with it, but it's a lot better after nearly 2 years in a public facing job where I deal with people a lot. I still can't handle crowds very well at all though, especially at work where they're all focusing on me.

But as far as shopping goes, I'm no longer afraid of the cashiers or mortified by asking someone to unlock the game case.

It's progress.

Bought a house, better at staying on top of my depression/anxiety, run 1000+ miles per year, got a steady girlfriend, married her, became a stepdad, sold a house, bought a much nicer house, and just had a baby girl born.

Mostly I've just gotten better at taking care of shit in my life and being an adult. My personality is mostly the same, other than being a bit more confident with myself.

I couldn't grow a beard five years ago. I have longer hair now but I could have grown that before.

Uh, job changed, I don't know if this counts though. And I own a home.

Personality wise, I'm way less into drinking and think I'm generally more mature about how I approach people. I used to identify as liberal but now I'd say leftist. Most of these are things I'm happy about, but on the minus side I think my social anxiety is getting even worse.

New job, longer hair, and a bit more confidence when talking to people
