Most stars nowadays don't have those skills, especially because rap is pervasive. Rap artists can't write music, just rap. They can't write melodies whatsoever and all of their work is collaboration work. Rap is fundamentally a percussion technique, and you can't dance while rapping. No, I'm not being an old man who thinks music was better in his day. Objectively, songs had greater appeal and staying power. Today, the majority of songs are meant to get a reaction for the moment and move on. It's the same across all fields of entertainment, really. Cartoons are cheap expedient animation meant to satisfy for the moment. Live action movies are mostly reboots and superhero continuations. The same is true of video games. It's all about that business model and getting the maximum output for minimum input. Today, the majority of songs are meant to get a reaction for the moment and move on. It's the same across all fields of entertainment, really. Cartoons are cheap expedient animation meant to satisfy for the moment. Live action movies are mostly reboots and superhero continuations. The same is true of video games. It's all about that business model and getting the maximum output for minimum input. It's better to serve McDonald's than to serve choice stake. Anyway the real answer is the internet and the massively larger amount of content available.
