For competitive use, Fire had more overall impact on the metagame and a starter that was considered Uber for three generations (Blaziken in gen 5-7), so I give Fire the edge. For my personal opinions on the Pokemon themselves, Fire has more of my favorites, including my overall favorite, the Litten line. Grass - Sceptile, Torterra, Decidueye Water - Feraligatr, Greninja, Inteleon Fire - Charizard, Emboar.
