Got the Blackwood Collection on PS4, so I have a lot of content to go through. As is tradition since Oblivion, the very first character I make is an albino Khajiit. Gonna go necromancer since I like summoning minions to do my bidding...and dying.

Did a little work before the servers shut down for maintenance, but I'm not too sure what to do. This one nexus lets me go to eight different DLC regions, so I just picked the Khajiit one and screwed around, levelling my cat's necromancy a bit. I definitely thought my stats would be somewhat...normal for LV1, instead of being in the five-digit region.

It's a good game, hope you enjoy it before the combat system fatigue sets in. Lot of content to experience though. Also I'm curious if Necromancer is still totally OP? Gonna see what you find out.

Oh and yeah the whole game is level scaled. At least for me it made it easier to get into group content but it also ruined a lot of sense of progression I would have received from other games.

Just seeing the Skyrim font gives me fatigue, lol.

Might get around to doing group content eventually (kinda want to specialize in healing staves for some reason) as I make my Nekoromancer. The abilities seem pretty lame right now, though, so hopefully I didn't pick the wrong class.

I stopped playing before Necromancers came out but the sad fact is that... most of the skills in the game feel underwhelming. Each class has three unique trees with like six or seven abilities and an ultimate each, and then weapons each have their own tree, and the guilds have their own ability tree(s). Nothing really stands out as like "whoamg this is awesome" though.

The game's been a little underwhelming so far, but I'll stick with it regardless, just 'cause I don't have much else to play in my PS4 backlog. Still, having just got done replaying Kingdoms of Amalur, I do with Bethesda had done more than a marginable upgrade to Skyrim-tier combat. Combat so far has been "stand at a distance and hurl exploding skulls" on most everything. Gonna have to pick it back up in a few days when I'm back home.

And maybe it was all that skooma I had, but I could've sworn that the entire Imperial race is DLC-locked? Not sure what possessed them to do such a thing.

I got fatigued from the content even before any dlc came out. I finished one faction and then went on to go through another and just gave up halfway through. Stopped reading any quest dialog and just followed icons at some point.

I completely quit when they changed some skills so they refunded your points and you had to spend them again. I just decided it was too much effort to recreate my build and stopped.

With all of the dlc I can't imagine how much stuff there is to do at this point. While that's great, I just couldn't bring myself to care all too much.

I got it and Morrowind for like $5 on PS4 and put a few hours into it before I was satisfied. The game seems like a real drag and I frankly hate the class system and how high the numbers are. Just seems useless.

You can just spec into the healing staff abilities. The aoe heal, the hot, and the bubble heal are great. Playing a healer in ESO is fun as fuck to me

I might be getting my lore wrong since it has been 7 years but IIRC the Imperial race was a pre-order bonus (or bonus for buying a higher end pack). The big advantage to the Imperial race was that it would let you choose which faction to play under, which was huge at launch because the world was absolutely not open. If you chose a race under one faction and your friend chose a race under a different faction, you could not play together until you completed the main faction quest (and/or main quest, don't remember). It was the dumbest system ever.

Then they came out with One Tamriel and made it irrelevant - you can start with one race under one faction and then just travel to the starting zone of a different faction and play through its questline if you want. And partner up from the beginning with people of all factions... In a way it made the faction system a little irrelevant except for maybe PVP stuff.

What I really loved about this game was the exploration - there are skyshards (give you skill points), lore books (grant you Mage Guild XP), public dungeons and bosses to defeat... Some of the quests actually have some basic puzzles in them - not a lot, but enough to give a slight advantage over many other MMOs that rely on basic storytelling and fetch mechanics in their questing. There's a high degree of interaction with the world (not as much as something like Runescape, but with the Thieves Guild you can break into houses and pick chests and pickpocket people, stuff like that).

The stories aren't the *most* compelling. One thing that struck me as funny is that they did repeat some quest stories between the three different faction areas - pretty sure they all have that stupid "MY husband ran away and the dog hasn't come home for dinner!" nonsense. But they did a good job stringing zone stories together. I don't remember which faction it is, but the zones for it feature some wealthy woman and her assistant seeking various treasures. You get to decide the outcome of each quest, and then when you find her in the next area you see how that decision played out. It's small things but it honestly made me feel more engaged in the world than Skyrim did, even though 90% of the world is just theme park MMO stuff.

Okay, looks like I get extra backpack slots as I level up. Also found a banker to store some of this crap I don't want to lug around. I wonder if the slots you can get are capped or it just keeps going up -- saw some people who are (I think) Lv1000+, so I'm curious.

You can buy bank and backpack space with regular old gold IIRC.

Don't forget to buy upgrades for your mount every day - I think there's a 24 hour cooldown between when you can buy them so it's sort of like a daily thing to do.

Likewise you should try to start breaking stuff down for your crafting library because that can become a time consuming process.

They did put a shit ton of crafting materials in the game, too, which makes ESO Plus a little more desirable since you can store *all* of it for "free" in your material bag.

Ehh, I'm not really that interested in mounts. Maybe if you can collect items while riding it'd be okay. Haven't really bothered breaking stuff down (dismantling bench somewhere? Just destroy it from inventory), but I've mostly stuffed my bank with recipe fodder. In fact, all the money I've spent so far has been on upgrading the bank storage. Gonna try to spend that on backpacks first from now on, though (up to 70 right now).

Even if you're not crazy about mounts you should invest in the upgrades - they have three "skills" (speed, stamina and... inventory). The inventory slot is like 1 per upgrade (once per day).

Well see, in the Alikr Desert dolmens are easy to farm, and theres usually a million people there doing it already, so it takes no time at all and power levels you just for being there

Doing this not only helps with xp, it helps with challenges due to the variety of enemies, which unlocks cool shit like good dyes

Also youll get tons of equipment that you can break down and use to level crafting and smithing, youre gonna want to start researching crafting recipes asap
