Hm, the next step of this questline is the first time I've ever experienced the game zones updating with your story progression causing a serious issue with an objective, going to talk to Tiamat.

I feel like the mechanics for the Brayflox normal boss are about as easy as it gets.

I can also safely say I have never once seen a tank figure it out in like 12-15 runs of it.

SCH gives me so much decision paralysis it's miserable.

It's also loaded with some of the worst unintuitive terminology bloat I've seen so far, which I'm sure if I decided to main I would get a hold of quick but boy does it look messy up front.

This shields. This shields but costs Aetherflow. This shields but has a long cooldown. This shields in an area. This is an AoE ground shield. Press this button to turn next shield into heal. Press this button to heal someone twice. Press this to have your fairy do work.

Half the problem I have with Scholar is forgetting to resummon if I eat it. That, and no offensive option other than slapping the ground like I'm playing DK in Smash.

Part of my distaste for current SCH, though, is that I've put so much more time into WHM that I dont know what I'm doing in it at all anymore either. WHM has twenty flavors of heal, too, but I know what goes when and in what area. SCH, I'm just like "Force Adlo crit, spread it, and, uh, start spamming Broil, fairy has the rest."

Honestly I think all three healers have extremely unitinitive names and terminology for their skills (what the fuck is an afflatus and an indulgence stack), but AST easily takes the cake.

You're not wrong, but with WHM the abilities are so straight forward that you can just completely melt into the effects and never have to think a out it at all, even during the leveling process.

Like, if someone boosted WHM they could probably get a handle of it in about 10 minutes or so. If someone boosted SCH or AST they may have an aneurysm.

And honestly leveling SCH through SMN for the last 20 levels has made me feel like I've boosted since all the crazy shit is after 50 anyways.

This is also true with SCH, because a lot of the weirdest abilities are relatively useless during leveling so when you get a button that actually does something you go "oh thank god"

Yep. If you dot up multiple enemies they start going off crazy fast.

Unfortunately, unlike SMN, you have to manually dot every single mob you're fighting.

I've been messing with my hotbar lately and learned something pretty important for controller. GCDs go on your right hand, oGCDs on your left. Always. It has pretty much reduced all clipping as soon as I started doing this and can now reliably double weave. I don't know why but it does work.

I learned this as I was finally leveling machinist and spent so long practicing getting those 5 heat blasts in Hypercharge. Couldn't get the last one. I had Heat Blast on circle, Gauss Round on Triangle, Ricochet on X. And I just couldn't do it. But as soon as I moved Ricochet and Gauss Round to the d-pad, it worked every single time

That made me think huh. My paladin main, if I double weave Circle of Scorn and FoF I sometimes clip. I had Circle of Scorn on X, FoF on d-pad. What if I moved Circle of Scorn to d-pad as well? And to my surprise, I could double weave and it was so smooth. So now I'm redoing all my hotbars with this in mind.

I didn't think it was a big deal, but the little time it takes to move your thumb from a GCD on circle to an OGCD on Triangle or whatever, can actually cause clipping.

Yes. Sephirot actually came before Sephiroth, as noted in some 6 concepts. The achievement for beating it on Savage, as well, is "Veni, Veni, Venias"

The other two names were similarly in 6's concepts and I am in love with Sophia's theme, Equilibrium.

Tomorrow is the first time I take a noteable break from the game since I first started playing (Ratchet and Clank was like 12 hours, doesn't count) for Great Ace Attorney.

Gonna be difficult to force myself not to do my dailys! Close to finishing Beast Tribes at least which cuts 30-45 minutes out of every day.

Ninja is at 38 and is the last class I need to get to 50, so I'll at least to leveling and Frontline roulette for that.

My physical copy of GAA won't be here for another 3 weeks so I was hoping to pop back in to FF14 this weekend since I have 4 days off but I'm not quite finished with Baten Kaitos Origins yet and probably won't be by the time the weekend hits

Although it's been like 2 months now so I probably would have to be learning how to play the game. I really enjoyed all the early game content leveling up my main class and also trying out a bunch of the other classes

Then it came time to do the 1st required multiplayer dungeon and even though I think it went really well I didn't really like playing with randoms and I found it mentally draining the tank for them and just stopped completely.

So I don't know if the actual MMO aspects are for me unless I can get convince some of my friends to play those parts with me but I'll be giving it another shot eventually.

I basically had the same thought process as you going in and was legit terrified to queue for Sastasha. It was THE number one thing that had kept me from seriously considering trying the game out for years.

You will likely get over it veeeeeery quick. It was like 3 dungeons in before the fact that I was playing with randos meant nothing to me anymore, and a few more until I was looking forward to it.

If you really don't like the responsibility of tanking you could try just dpsing; there are very few normal difficulty dungeons where a single dps failing will singlehandedly wipe the group, especially early in the game.

Tanking dungeons is dead easy, even at higher levels. Just open with your AOE attack on a new mob, and then use your 1-2-3 combo on the mob the party is focusing on to keep hate. Even most of the normal mode primal fights don't have too many mechanics.

Agreeing with my fellow turtle here. Dungeon tanking doesn't get difficult unless you choose to make it difficult by mega-pulling (with your healer's consent).

That said, starting in Stormblood, tanking trials can get spicy even in normal mode.

So when I logged in this morning I realized that the next step in the MSQ for me is a dungeon, and I didn't feel like waiting on the DPS queue so I decided to try out soloing ARR extremes instead. It's going pretty well; I've managed three so far, including redoing two of them because I forgot to pick the quests back up after abandoning them at some point for the journal space. No mount drops though but grinding those out can wait until I get closer to actually caught up (which is never going to happen if I keep getting distracted like this, but I digress).

75 DRG actually, with a mix of SB tomestone (400) and crafted (385) gear, plus the 430 preorder earring.

You can do it at 70 for sure. At 80 it's a joke.

Yeah at 70 some of the dps checks might be tough for some classes (e.g. Titan to avoid getting repeatedly tombed) and Ramuh really hurts, but they're all super easy at 80. I think you might even be able to do some of them at 60 with like PLD?

(well, you can still die to Leviathan at 80 by being knocked off)

Took a gander at Rich's stream and there is no fucking way that the 3.4 Titan Trial at minilvl was difficult enough to have to re-queue after a timeout.

The ARR Hard primals were endgame when the game launched I think. So min ilevel is gonna set you to i50 or some cursed shit.

It SHOULDN'T take multiple lockouts but it's Titan, people still sometimes wipe on it in trial roulette to this day.

I could see geocrush just annihilating people on min ilvl; people talk about how damage numbers increased (which is true) but the fact that a -lot- of mitigation tools don't exist anymore gets glossed over a lot. Iirc both tanks had an enemy strength down as part of their kit (so enemies will just be hitting harder in general), stoneskin is gone, skills like apoctastasis, etc. Tanks are fine since tank mastery is broken its all the other classes that get screwed there
