Yeah he uses dampen cold, I still plan to go ice with Rinoa though since I want to use her HA. First phase I will use Rinoa's ice sync because he uses the dampen cold only once there, then in phase 2 I'll use Rinoa's ice awakening then her busb or glint+ if I don't have the meter so she goes earth for phase 3 when Bahamut starts going more dampen cold crazy.

They already announced Ice Weak Odin is coming out August 24th in the MVP letter.

Also a magicite campaign is supposed to start tonight I think, we can get some tickets (probably those 1 relic elemental ones) still I could some last minute help for FFT/3 Bahamut.

You can still use Rinoa's HA with earth. The best way to do it is leave the other ability slot empty so she has no other options in ability berserk mode.

She doesn't dualcast her earth sync commands with her witch dualcast LMR though since they're black magic while her ice sync commands are witch. I want to keep the witch dualcast for her awakening later in the fight and the magic increase LMR as the second because Bahamut is bulky.

I don't have her earth awakening anyway.

I'm holding my Titan ticket at the moment; might use it on whatever seems like my most approachable 6*?

I was thinking of maybe trying phys-weak Leviathan, but apparently Xezat's AASB doesn't give infusion and the USB I have for him infuses ice. Only one of Cater's two AASBs infuses too.

How many cap breaks did you have for that team? I'm guessing 2 for Rinoa, 2 for Ultimecia... 1 for Fujin?

Yeah just 5. Fujin is still MVP with that piercing HA and that wind damage boost. Helped Ultimecia tear through phase 2 so I never saw megaflare in phase 2, but for some odd reason even at 150 chain Ultimecia couldn't break king's rage, so I had to use OSB to break it.

All 8 magicite beaten, man is it just me or does this campaign feel like the FFRK version of the boss refight capsule rooms from Mega Man games?

The 6* magicite missions are fun, they show how far we've come, and the rewards are good! I did the first four. Ifrit is still a jerk, I cut my time from 53.x to 25.x but I had three dead characters at the end. No real problems with the first three (starting from Titan), my time was right around 21 seconds on all of them.

Ticket pulls:
2/11 - Ward g+, Quistis realm chain
1/11 - Laguna limit break
2/11 - Selphie glint, dupe Seifer chain
2/11 - Irvine LMR, dupe Rinoa bUSB

Did all my pulls on VIII because I could really use Fujin sync/AASB2 or Ultimecia sync, plus a lot of other stuff would be nice to have. Not great pulls but I think Laguna will be my only physical ice limit if I don't use Fran, so maybe I'll use that. Quistis realm chain could potentially get used too but probably not without her awakening.

I thought Shiva was pretty easy, even on release, but now, with Terra Sync+AASB and especially Papa Sync+AASB, it felt almost unfair. What a slaughter.

Tried her and got her down to 22%... Unfortunately Gogo VI is pretty useless here for me.

Tried a few more times and got her just under 10%... really not sure how I'm gonna squeeze out that extra damage. I have Terra and Papa's syncs, but nothing else for Papa and only an AOSB and BSB for Terra for dps. In principle it seems like the thing to do would be to get her down to just a bit over 70% before using the syncs, but I just can't do much of anything without them (using a chain and just abilities/Terra's LB glint I can only do about 10% of her health before the first chain runs out).

Terra and Papalymo both have good usbs in the lens shop, especially Papalymo's chase usb. You can also stall in the first phase since Shiva is so tame.

Shiva wasn't quite as easy as the first three for me, even though she was the easiest one the first time around. I think I was just too greedy taking another DPS instead of Cait. Valefor on the other hand was legitimately annoying, first one I've had to retry.

Overall disappointing. Best item is obviously Edea's sync, but without her awakening she's still my #4 ice mage behind Serah, Rinoa, and Vivi. I like all those characters a lot more than her too. Oh well.

I think I'm missing something here with Shiva. After she transitions into phase 3 my dps against her tanks for a little while (maybe like 5 seconds?) even if I clear her rage, but I'm not seeing anything in the AI to explain it. If Papa and Terra were capping there instead of doing like 7k a hit I'd have the clear, but with it I can't beat the chain timer. I thought maybe it was the DEF/RES/MND buff, but the AI thread says that's 25 seconds.

Probably should have occurred to me sooner, but I switched Gogo for Vivi (for whom I have a chain... and nothing else). Had to spend a bunch of motes getting him to the point where he wasnt murdered (including accidentally buying the defense section of his board due to a misclick) and Mog had to take over dispel at the expense of Salsa, but I guess the gen 2.5 or whatever chains actually are considerably better than the RW ones and it was worth it!

(I did also buy that Papa USB; I had seen it suggested for XIVs DB and almost got it then)

Used my ticket on II since I have literally zero cap breaks there... 2/11, useless looking Emperor LMR and Leons bUSB

If I had her chain I'd use her, but since I don't, it wouldn't make sense to select anything for her. I already have three strong ice mages with two cap breaks each. And Serah would be a better chain wielder since I have her 500 SB glint.

I used all 8 tickets on XV, and got mostly garbage.
A single 7*, which was a dupe of Ignis Sync. No AASB at all.

Best new relic was Gladio AOSB, which will be great if I ever get his damn Sync.

Yeah, I'm definitely planning to grab it. That pens update has a ton of stuff I want. Quina's 6* glints are high on my list too.

Yeah it will help, especially against bosses like Wodin and Enkidu because you'll need to imperil them with Serah's BSB or they'll get too bulky. Even with the glint+ she'll have to juggle chain, cap breaks and imperil so letting Edea use chain will help her.

There's an FF8 Lucky draw but I have everything on the banner except Selphie sync and Squall's fire stuff besides the AOSB.

Well since I already beat FF8 Bahamut I shouldn't need that stuff anyway. Fire Awakening would be nice for Enkidu though...

Oh one thing that just came out in Japan is that Nexus Labyrinth bosses now have record boards that unlock after you beat them like Bahamut does.

That's pretty nice since for such hard bosses the rewards are somewhat lacking outside of Anima Lens+ and getting the best gear for four characters. And Treasure maps are common finds and basically near useless if you're strong enough to beat the bosses in that time frame anyway.

Agreed, that is nice. Is it just for the 9 featured characters that month? It definitely seems like they're trying to save a lot of the better characters for later seasons.

And as far as I can tell, the best use for treasure maps is augmenting your gear if you want to get those last few points of atk/mag.

Bahamut VIII done without too much trouble.

I tried to use Rinoa's Earth Sync and her Ice AASB to break the 20k rage, but she couldn't get close to 20k, and beating phase 1 without a cap break was not happening reliably either.

So I used Rinoa's Ice AASB to get through phase 1, rushed phase 2 with Rinoa Sync, Quistis AASB and Fujin AASB, then relied on OSB spam to break King's Rage (had to buy Quistis Doomtrain with Lvl 2 lenses) in phase 3. Then it was just a matter of cleaning up the remaining HP.

I tried the VIII dragonking, it felt super awkward and my team was dying too easily... after I died early in phase 2 I realized my HC was only level 80, lol. I'll give it another try with a 120 HC, but Selphie doesn't seem very good and Cait doesn't contribute enough healing to make up for it. I might need to build a physical team so I can use Orran instead.

Selphie was fine against Bahamut for the most part for me, her astra USB blocks the phase 1 slow so you can stall a bit more for meter and her USB1 is still pretty decent, and she can build chain too with holyja and her 35% dualcast. She fares a lot better against Bahamut than Cerberus since he's not as fast.

Hrm not sure I have another plausible 6* magicite team. Maaaaybe physical ice, but my understanding is that Valefor's one of the hardest ones. Wish I had a third earth physical character with access to multiple infusions + a cap break (or even a second for magic to back up Red).

You have FF6 Gogo's awakening right? He gets earth infusion with his awakening.

Actually I guess in addition to her dyad Rydia's BSB infuses earth; maybe that plus her dyad would be okayish? I also have Tellah with chain + kamikaze USB.

For physical Galuf has his sync plus both awakenings so he's more than set, and Biggs has both an infusing G+ and an AASB with an infusion chase. My third dps options are Xezat (non-infusing AASB), Machina (AASB), Tifa (dyad+LBO), and Ingus (free chain, USB, G+).

Did you get Selphie's HA? One of her problems is her awakening doesn't work with white magic and passion salsa just doesn't heal enough to be useful.

Valefor I'd definitely one of the hardest 6*. It helps a lot to have AOE abilities for the tornadoes, so Celes or Squall's HA for physical and Shiva for the magical version.

With Mog providing additional healing, Selphie with her AASB was fine against Bahamut without the HA. You probably need her dance-heal LMR and some of her lenseable USBs though.

I have her USB1 and 2 already... I could grab 3 but it seems like it's usually worse than 1 because of no entry heal. I'll probably try her HA since HAs are cheap these days.

I didn't get Selphie's HA but it's not bad, I don't think it's worth the anima lens with Mog as a backup healer. I also only use her awakening in the last phase anyway since it's mostly single hit attacks where the damage barrier nulls most of the damage you don't really need her to heal anyway when Mog already covers most of it. There's also more characters I rather use the saphhires for (Gogo V, Seven, Rubicante, maybe Ovelia?)

Ah my ice dps would be Ayame/Snow/Cater, so I don't think I have access to any aoe. My ice magic is definitely not ready for 6*s!

Ayame can use frostfire carnage and that's aoe to hit the tornados, but yeah you'll want one of Squall/Celes/Laguna's HAs to help out with the tornados.

Don't forget Ultima is aoe ice as well. Ysayle also has an aoe Hero Ability if you have anything for her.

Also we're finally getting more characters in Japan, the next FF15 event there adds Ravus as a playable character. It's been like a year and half since the last character, Ardyn was added. And his sync/awakening are almost dream selectable here!

100 gem'd Ward's legend materia, yay? Haven't used him a long time though.

I think the easiest is still the d180 dreams fights. You can just put it on autobattle. The realms with an offensive character has a IC3 LM like Lightning, Noctis, and Luneth go especially fast. My problem is my phone keeps crashing when I leave it on autobattle so when I was somewhat serious about farming magicite I used BlueStacks.

Yeah the easitest way to auto grind is to use the FF13 dreams, having lighting with Mako Might, her sync and ic3 LMR and let it use the auto run. Make sure not to select any of Dr. Mog's help and to have a 5* and non instant cast primary magicite and she'll just use sync, command 1 and kill the boss in one second.

Ah yeah I have all of that stuff for Lightning so I was able to farm a decent amount; got Arc from 100 to 140ish.

Did you get Arc's hero ability? It's mind based holy or water so you don't need to invest in magic magia unless you want to hit AOE with Lunar Leviathan.

Also it's a Black Chocobo event tonight so make sure to change your roaming warriors to water chains.
