Don't care about Sandworm, but I'm hype for Bartz Hero Equipment.

Got my VI Bahamut down to 39 seconds for a few extra tails and Anima lens +, thanks to the bonus nodes from the first completion.

Welp wind magic is probably my best elemental team, so maybe I can at least pick off some of the % rewards off of sandworm...

Considering the following USBs for my stamp select:

-Lenna USB4: have her sync but nothing else, one of my Lab healers
-Relm USB3: have cleared 450 torment for VI, so might try DB at some point; can actually afford to bring Deuce here though since Mog is in-realm
-Yuna USB5: she and Sarah appear to have the two healer USBs that won't be in the shop by the next update, and my X, while not fantastic, is definitely better than my I
-Vanille USB4: my XIII is looking pretty good now; might be another DB possibility

Some that seem quite useful but are currently lensable:
-Y'shtola USB2: XIV is definitely looking like my most plausible DB; unless I pick it here I will probably lens and try to clear before the fest mission goes away
-Elarra USB1: have awakening, lab healer, Core also one of my best realm teams

I'd get Lenna's USB4, it's really good. Elara clone + brave command with a last stand.

Beat physical dark weak Wodin. He was way harder than the magic weak one. He seemed so much more bulky, Sephiroth struggled to break the 20000 cap even with Orran BSB and Ode to Victory. Ardyn's the MVP again thanks to his overstrike sync command 2!

Congrats on the Wodins!

Almost done with all of the 5* magicite; just Typhon and Ark left. I'm getting increasingly lazy putting together teams, only diving Desch for Geosgaeno (with Alphinaud picking up the slack); doubt that will work whenever I get to Leviathan! I'm assuming Rem will wreck Ark, but Typhon might be annoying.

I'm now almost completely out of 3-5* wisdom motes though, so I guess it's time to beat up some vegetables

Dropping Sephiroth's not really an option for me since him and Shadow are my only characters with 2 physical dark cap breaks. Shadow's good at breaking cap with his HA extra hit, and with the chases from his USB1 (2.16 multiplier per hit). But his damage on his regular hits is really suffering too.

Also for the first time I'm starting to feel the need to hone Elarra's awakening. Almost makes me want to push through the last 20 levels of spiralling depths.

That wasn't too bad. The anti-heal slot 2+4 Odins are definitely my favorites, as Deuce with her AASB just laughs at those.

Cloud and Seph opened with their Syncs. Kiros used his USB once for the speed tricks, then his AASB to help with damage. I actually have Seifer AASB, but I didn't use it in this run, opting for his Dark RS BSB instead. Between Seifer spamming Touched by Darkness, Darkness Swing linked to Cloud's cmd 2, and Odin magicite's attacks, I kept him at a pretty high imperil level through the fight.

After the FFVII Syncs ran out, around 35%, Seph switched to AASB+USB2, while Cloud switched to wind AASB+USB1 (what's endark?). They quickly ripped through phase 2 with their combined damage output.

I'll try to tackle the magic-weak version later today, or maybe tomorrow.

Yay, beat the magic-weak one. That one wasn't too bad, my damage was way better than the physical weak version. Time to try the physical one some more.

Also I beat the III dreambreaker thanks to picking up Aria's USB2 and OK's sync. 35.xx clear. OK's dyad was hitting for 30k+ per hit which was pretty nice, and his sync was great.

...just realized that staves and rods are in fact different weapon types, and I had been using a +rod RM on Papalymo with a staff equipped

Yeah that's really annoying. I was using Gogo with the stave artifact with the rod damage+ LMR for a long time until I realized it because I assumed he was just weaker due to not have a record board yet.

I hope dream selects are this week since Labyrinth will update to wind based hero artifacts and I'd like a day 1 win on Sandworm. I think I can do physical with Vaan, Bartz and Lunneth but magic is a bit more iffy. Emperor and Alphinaud are shoo ins but for a third DPS I'm rather concerned. With Ultimecia I could bring Mog since her bUSB can overwrite the aegis but she only has one cap break, I'd love to get her sync since it's a 7 million HP fight.

I'm also impatient for the dream select but it's so I can get Red's sync and try to beat the last endgame boss.

For Sandworm there's no way I can get a magic clear for a while. I haven't event beaten odin with magic wind yet, the only one I haven't done yet aside from physical dark. For physical wind I'm pretty sure I already have the tools, I just need to be good enough to use them. (My only weakness is I'm still using Zack's chain, but I have his sync and his wind imperil glint+ so he's still pretty solid.)

Magic Dark weak Odin has also been defeated. Yeah, that probably was a bit easier than the physical version.

I knew going in that I'd be running Emperor (Sync+AASB1), CoD (Chain+CSB), Cait Sith and Deuce, but I wasn't sure who should be my last dps.
After looking at my choices, I settled on Exdeath, who had a AASB and an imperil USB. Not great, but better than my other options. Luckily I got it done without needing to get his HA.

I got Fujin's awakening today on the daily! Sweet! Does FF8 Bahamut also null ice like Cerberus? If so it would probably be better to use Fujin over Edea since I plan to go mage, and Fujin's hero ability looks real nice.

Physical darkness Odin beaten! I'm not sure if the emblem made that big of a difference but it felt a lot easier this time. Seph's crits were hitting for around 30k a lot of the time when last time it seemed like he often struggled to break 20k. Still took me 48 seconds though and I only had about 3 turns before dead end, so maybe I just misremembered how hard it was before.

Finished off my last 5* magicite (Typhon)!

Seems like it would really suck with low dps, but I was able to avoid him snorting away anybody besides Mog.

I'm annoyed again at how bad Galuf's damage is with his first awakening, and sad I didn't get either of his better items in the fest. I still can't get below 20% on Kalavinka Striker.

So I'm looking at the FFXIV DB and trying to figure out how to fit all of the relevant abilities onto characters. It looks like Y'shtola doesn't have a proshellhastega G+ but does have a haste+shell+regen glint, whereas Mog doesn't have haste on his G+. But I also seem to want both his HA and Passionate Salsa on Mog, and Curada/Dispel on Y'shtola. So is my only option here to grab her glint? Using a bar on that at the beginning of the fight seems like it would leave me unable to heal for too long.

I'd suggest manually casting Hastega and using Mog's Glint+.
Depending on your party, Mog, Yshtola, Alphinaud and Minfilia all have White 5* for Hastega.

Yeah the team is Mog/Y'Shtola/Alphinaud/Papalymo/Yda, but it doesn't seem like any of them can spare the spot. It really seems like I want Curada/Dispel on Y'shtola and HA/PS on Mog since Lahabrea does a full buff+proshellhastega, and if I give it to Alph he'll have barely any ability uses since summons get penalized in hones for some reason.

I guess Papalymo could take dispel instead, but then nothing's linked to one of his sync commands (and I have no awakening for him, so I'll also probably run out of hones).

Oh actually I guess I can't read; his self-buff is DEF/RES/MND so I guess PS wouldn't counter it anyway. Maybe Mog takes dispel then and Y'shtola takes haste.

Hrm, I think I'm fundamentally misunderstanding something. I tried a few times and kept having early deaths; Y'shtola doesn't seem to be healing enough even with a bit of an assist from Aphinaud and Mog. I also think I'm not dealing damage fast enough (avoiding using my AASB/syncs in P1); I ran into enrage pretty soon after he killed a couple of my guys and I think he was still above 90%.

Got Tellah 5% Rod with a record marker which is awesome

Do these carry over between seasons because I kinda wanna start saving them if so as I have the best gear for Tellah and Emperor now who are the only two I cared about much (though also have complete sets for Red, Guy, and Rude)

Yeah, record markers can be saved for later seasons.

The character hero artifacts change every few days so in a couple of days after the wind stuff gets added then the earth stuff comes back. It will be like half a week, then a shorter time when new artifacts are added and they'll cycle through it each other earth>wind>ice>FF4>fire then new labyrinths open for season 2.

Side note is it possible to scrap your artifacts for stones and/or rainbow crystals somehow I'm not finding anything

I have 2 Earth Magic artifacts and I don't see myself using then much with Tellah and Emperor specific gear

You can use them instead of rainbow crysals/rosetta stones to upgrade other artifacts (with a bonus if you're using a duplicate of the same artifact)

The infamous Sandworm is tomorrow, anyone going try to fight him day 1? My planned teams are

Bartz, Lunneth, Vaan, Orran and Deuce for physical.

Emperor, Aplhinaud, Mog/Orran, Deuce and either Terra or Ultimecia for magic.

I plan to fight magic first for the guaranteed Bartz and Vaan stuff, but I probably have a better chance of getting a win with physical since I only have 1 cap break for Ulti (if you don't count her brave.

I am going to try, but feeling a lot less optimistic once I remembered that we won't have overdrive. I'm planning to try two physical teams: Cloud, Zidane, Zack, Orran, and Elarra for one, and Cloud, Zidane, Zack, Orran, and Bartz for the other. On Kalavinka Striker it feels like my yolo team has gotten closer to winning, but with better offense on my wind team the safer approach might work.

Got Seymours sync and G+ from the X realm draw. I already have his AASB (and a USB I guess), so thats convenient!

Kinda seems unclear to me that the sync is better to use first though since summons have so few hones so the AASBs infinite usage is relatively more valuable.

Speaking of summoner syncs, I got Alphinauds healing one recently. Hes one of my best dps so it seems kinda wasted, but I guess the cap break will work for damage too, right?

Seymour's dualcast legend materia is dark element so he can use darkness abilities as a backup if hones are a problem (or Ultima).

I got the sub30 on Dreambreaker Zalera! Hoo boy this one is really fucking annoying with all those status effects! Delita is a huge improvement over Ramza with just his sync! I really hope I can luck into his awakening before FFT Bahamut comes out.

I got Delita's awakening on the daily draw today. And I got his sync during fest so I guess I need to use him now. Is he good aside from being able to use 4 elements? I already have at least two characters with sync+awakening in all of his elements so he's got a lot of competition.

I almost got Sandworm down to 10%, at least I got the 5% armors for Vaan and Bartz.



Man this fight sucks, so many anti heals and gravity attacks, UGH! When I dream select Ultimecia's sync tomorrow maybe I can beat him.

Also wow I already got a 5% damage weapon for Wedge with a marker! Nice!

First sandworm attempt I died to the beginning of phase 3 attack (55%). I guess I need to get last stand up before then. Or is there some other way to survive that?

I use Deuce Awakening to put up stoneskin to help absorb the chain stonga damage.

Also forgot to respond to your earlier post but man you got lucky getting Delita Awakening! And yes he is very good especially with the extra hit chases LMR. His sync has a piercing chase which really helps against Bahamut/Labyrinth bulky bosses!

Got Lahabrea to phase 3 twice by giving up on Mog and bringing Deuce. First time I think I screwed up my second chain timing and was too slow on dispelling his second proshellhaste, and the second time sap killed me through last stand.

Hopefully I can get this one in under the wire...

Thanks to the Bartz Hero Artifacts I got a sub30 on the Dreambreaker!

Tried Bahamut earlier but I can't deal with phase 2 unless I get second cap break for somebody other than Bartz while I can just rush down Azulmagia before he does his BS under Mog Awakening 2.

I only have 1, 3, 9, 10, 11 and core left to sub30. Wow, hard to believe I'm almost done with Dreambreakers completely. Wonder if Freya is worth using since I have her sync now to try and get the sub 30 on Deathguise (probably not)

With the new Hero Equips, I figure most people here will be doing some manual runs. So here's a minor Labyrinth PSA, which may not be universally known:

The final floor seems to always have a treasure room. So if you get the boss painting early, and you haven't seem a treasure on the final floor yet, make sure to keep going.

Gonna get Nabaat Awakening with the 100 mythril select now, 6 mage cap breaks should be enough for Bahamut.

Picking Ulti sync now, will pick later to be safe incase of daily dupe (but very unlikely on a sync.) Thinking Orlandeau sync, Ace Awakening and Arc Awakening.
