Hmmm Well I was stashing keys in anticipation of this topic, lol

I think it would keep the engagement high, I dont see how it could hurt as people post their wish lists and still get gifts anyway.

The price difference thing is so annoying; first time I did this I added half a dozen people as friends solely to gift them, then found out that I couldn't buy anything on any of their wishlists for them due to the price difference. Felt like a right arsehole; "Hey, accept my friend request please, I want to gift you." "Sure." "Oh, actually I can't."...

Felt a bit awkward for me too adding people and then finding out I can't be gifted to anyways. I don't think anyone's realistically going to consider you an arsehole for trying to gift free stuff.

Yeah, I didn't think so. I hate it. I've always wanted to buy games for people on here or over on Reddit, but I'm not able to without having them on my Steam Friend List, and I don't want that.

This would be "extra", but you could always buy a Steam gift card at a store, and PM the code. That would be a way around the friends thing.

They region locked physical steam gift cards recently to prevent scams and fraud.

People post Steam wishlists here and you can choose to gift games for others.
(You can also gift away leftover Steam keys that you have as well - or other games)

Typically, the one who gifts the most gets a nice reward at the end.

3 wishlist posts per topic. Resets when the current topic closes + next one opens.

@TroutPaste Thoughts on keys counting?

I'm just doing 1 or 2 random drawings with mine. $10 or $20. If someone wants to count keys, do the winner's tally, the biggest gifter... they can do whatever

Cuz I don't really believe in the key stuff but also don't want to gatekeep or make rules up

personally, i liked the giving away of the keys, but it did sorta make the counting and keeping track of regular entries kinda complicated... maybe they could be tracked as entirely separate entries from the regular game entries, with a drawing for a smaller prize? i dunno.

Wrt Fanatical; not every key is region unrestricted - it should normally state somewhere under the price where it can be activated, so always check first.

Can't wait for it to start rolling. Always great to the generosity that pours out of CE during these things. First one i was ever part of I came into it without a dime to spend on anyone and ended up with a haul of my own. Since then I always try to buy a few gifts.

True story..I actually waited for Octopath fall sale before winter but it never went on sale so I used up all my funds my bro gave me for other games that I filled up for wishlist..only to realize that the game got a sale on winter...and I'm like..wut?

I doubt the games will come to the sale for this season but who knows..I still like giving out games to others cause I find it a bit rewarding.

@Herbette Just mention a game or two that are within 10-20$ in range if you have any. I don't know if I can fill up your entire wishlist lol!

And yeah you can gift them too so long as they have Steam Keys with them!

I just checked on Alwa's Legacy and the Steam Key is too expensive than it is on Steam.

Same as those last two, I'll probably pass on participating because my backlog is too big already. Unless someone's giving away a game I really want. I don't think there are any of those left after the last few seasonal sales, though.

I tried adding @ArianaGrandSlam to Steam but I can neither send him the game that he wanted nor can I add funds to his steam account since he's not eligible.

Is there a way to get the Steam Key of Alwa's Legacy and send it as a gift? This may be a problem for those in different regions...
