I asked this on the PS5 board but curious what others think outside there. I am debating between a 65" Sony A8H and 85" Sony X900H. Both similarly priced on Amazon. What say ye, OLED or screen size?

This is for a home theater in a finished basement with some natural light but mostly dark.

The 65" OLED. I've got the 55" version, the OLED and general improvements from the step up in hardware are absolutely worth giving up the 20" screen size.

Depends how close you sit. The further you sit back, the more screen size matters and the less very small details matter. Also, your vision probably plays into how much it matters. I imagine if you don't got super good vision, bigger would be better than better overall quality.

I just pick a tv impulsively and buy it tho, so maybe I'm not who to talk to.

really depends on your distance to the TV. if you're only like 5-6 feet away, and 85" will be way too big. but if you're sitting 20 feet away, the 85" makes sense. look up a graph showing resolution vs viewing distance

OLED is better for gaming because of them response times

65 would be like my absolute max from that close. Even that's pushing it tbh

85 is overkill, go 65
