Pretty much what I was gonna post. It feels like in every RPG with poison most of the bosses are immune, but when you find one that isn't it's really good. Stuff like Blind/Poison never works in some of these games where you'd want them so they only exist to be used against you. Zombie is hilarious a few times in FFX.

Turning an opponent into a frog is oddly satisfying.

Also zombie status in Metal Slug is dope (I'm aware it's not an RPG but a Sh'mup).

Zombie. Especially in games where it adds the "immune to instant death" and/or alters elemental alignments, it can get really interesting on a strategic level.

I recall using it in on myself against several bosses in FF8 Requiem mod (because it's very hard to get everyone immune to instant death any other way). Most amusing was (mod spoilers) against Catoblepas, where just before finishing him off, I was like "hm... yeah, I'm gonna guess they've replaced his Meteor final attack with All-Death" and zombied myself just in case... and my prediction was 100% spot on.

I chose blind strictly because of ff12 hunts. That one effect was semi mandatory for the early game "hard" hunts.

Charm absolutely breaks some games (Shin Megami Tensei being my first experience, but breaking that game is so easy). It's an interesting effect because of how punishing it is.

When it actually works, Silence is my favourite. Being able to neuter multi-target nukes and watching a mage flail around helplessly feels really good.
