Yeah, I guess I get part of that. Eren comes across as a complete tool. I don't think it was a slow season though!

I think you could argue the first few episodes were a bit slow since it was mostly set-up and developing Marley and its characters from the ground-up in most cases since a lot of them were entirely new. Not the second half though lol.

In Azure, getting to team up with Zeit and having him occasionally drop random bits of lore (such as what really became of St. Ursula) is great. He also says the Gralsritter are protectors of the grail, which makes sense given the name, but I think that's the first time it's been referenced to exist.

They also talk about Holy Beasts aren't allowed to directly interfere, but since the Sept-Terrion of Mirage disappeared, Zeit can be a little more proactive.

Hmm...I wonder if that interaction between Zeit and Cecile is meant to imply she's a descendant of St. Ursula.

Janet Hsu (the English voice of Franziska von Karma) talks about the process of localizing the Great Ace Attorney games. I always finds this type of thing fascinating, so it was a fun read for me.

I finished the book The Devil and the Dark Water. It wasn't as good as The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle (I think I just don't enjoy ships as a setting for a story. It's just so limiting), but I did enjoy it and I figured out one of the major twists pretty early on, so I was a little proud of myself.

I'm also probably about 40% through Wheel of Time book 5. It's pretty good so far. It's jumping around between stories more than previous books have so far, which is nice, but I also want more Rand and Mat (and I miss Perrin, obviously).

All the different Lokis were great. It's kind of strange to watch the character attempt a legitimate face turn (assuming it is legit, that is...!)

In Azure, I've finished Stargazer's Tower and I'm ready to infiltrate Crossbell City. I'm glad to see they already laid the foundation for Duvalie's tsundere ways, even in her brief screentime here.

Also, they keep making oblique references to another of Dieter's co-conspirators aside from Arios, and I'm guessing it's Grimwood. He's the guy who drafted the independent state's constitution, and he doesn't show up in Cold Steel 3 or 4 (along with the fact that his law office is no longer there). It's kind of interesting to hear Mariabell and the others talk about Dieter when he's not around. They clearly don't think he's built for this. I've been kinda expecting him to be the last boss this whole time, but now I'm not so sure!

Being in that same boat having had one for a week, I've begun playing the Yuffie DLC.

Loving Yuffie's great personality (yes, Leon) in a modern game. She's really fun to control in battle too. Also, Fort Condor is actually somewhat good now.

All Fort Condor has to do is make me play it once to be an improvement over the original!

Pretty tired of the 'Kurain hates lawyers' gimmick.

Already got enough with Rayfa as your investigation partner, but even the trial is full of slow court shots. Phoenix usually takes abuse from the other characters, but it feels very one note now.

Rayfa as the investigation partner is great, but I do agree SoJ goes to crowd reaction shots too often.

There were aspects to Rayfa I liked, like asking her aide for stuff. And I am a fan of ojousama tsunderes.

It'll at least be gratifying to win and make lawyers great again.

AAI1 is pretty short until the last case...! And 6-6 manages to be crisp, at least!

true, i just remember adjusting to the new format making it kind of awkward with E1-1 and E1-2, but they probably weren't that long. still kinda long for a 1st and 2nd case though.

Just finished Black Widow. Solid mid-tier MCU movie. Feels kinda unimportant in the grand scheme of things unless the plan is to make Yelena the new Black Widow going forward, which I'd be okay with. Yelena was the best part of the movie.

In Azure, now I'm fully convinced the other co-conspirator is Grimwood. I'm wandering around Crossbell before the infiltration of Orchis Tower. Pete told us that Grimwood just so happened to be at Orchis Tower when all this went down, so now he's "stuck" there. Then I visited the graveyard at the church, and the caretaker was standing at the grave of the family Grimwood lost in an "accident" 15 years ago. That basically gives him the same motivation as Arios, and I think Lloyd picked up on it immediately, too.

Like, I get I'm making frequent stops, but you also don't know exactly when I'm going to start moving again. I nearly hit this guy because he decided to turn right as I started moving again.

I have thankfully never hit or been hit by anyone so far, but there have been a couple of close calls in addition to the one from today.

Last dungeon theme in Azure is rocking. I feel like they reused it in CS4 for the same area.

Oh, that wasn't the final dungeon! Total red herring! Guess I should've known since the Azure Tree hadn't even shown up yet, whoops! It's kinda strange how "normal" Dieter turned out to be. You don't fight him directly, there's no big transformation, heck, he doesn't even have an "obviously evil" portrait!

I know I saw the Grimwood reveal coming, but I thought it was well done. The hints were there, but I never suspected him before the game started dropping the big ones. He was super affable and he felt like he had a place in the story instead of feeling like a random dude (like Weissmann) or just not important enough to warrant a portrait (like Joachim).

I really like Grimwood's role as a concept. I don't feel the execution is quite there all the time, but he's still pretty good overall. Way better than like Weissman or Campanella or something, though Campanella can admittedly be pretty fun from a purely entertainment standpoint.

Also I'm pretty sure Cold Steel 3/4 does actually directly spoil Grimwood's involvement. I guess not by his actual name but by comments about "that lawyer" or something saying he was involved in this incident. That's also why there was just a "random" entrance to the Geofront inside his old office for whichever game that was relevant in.

Dieter is also probably my favorite villain in the series, though I don't know that I can totally explain why. A good villain is the tragic hero of their own story, or something. (Not that I literally believe this statement in all cases, but I do think that's sort of why I like Dieter specifically)

Yeah, I think that was in CS3, but I hadn't played Zero yet, so it wouldn't have registered for me. Either way, I think they did a pretty good job keeping it under wraps, even in Cold Steel.

lol yeah I wasn't saying anything. Actually I prefer the real final dungeon's theme but it's very different in style.

Mystic Core (Thaumatergical Sector's theme) did indeed return in CS4.
