And think it's just the most useless streaming app?

Excellent library of content, but I can't make it through anything more than like half an hour without it crashing or freezing. Crashes in between episodes of a show, so if I ever want to watch multiple episodes I have to restart the app for each episode. If left alone for like 5 minutes, the app will need restarted or nothing will play. I don't have issues with any other streaming service, but HBO Max is just consistently broken

I cancelled it a week or two ago due to these issues; I don't understand why HBO of all companies struggles with this.

Never had an issue with it and I enjoy it.
I only ever use it on my TV and the PC so I have no idea what the phone app is like.

It works fine for my laptop, with the occasional annoyance, like being weirdly windowed the beginning.

I use it on Android, I do have to restart it if I close it out for a while sometimes, but no issues during active play.

usually hbo max is fine for me, but when you're trying to watch a live episode hbo has always struggled. had all sorts of issues watching game of thrones live, and mare of easttown was unwatchable live too.

Yeah I dont really have any problems with it either other than no 4K really

Think Peacock and Paramount are worse and Amazon has a horrible interface

I get it for free with ATT and I like it more than Disney +. The new movies are cool and Im enjoying some of these insane Adult swim shows I never knew existed. Had no idea Too Many Cooks was part of a 40 episode series.

Annd I totally misread your post. Ive been using it on a fire stick with no issues

Never had issues with the player.

The site's design is garbage though. Why is it so hard to find and view anything?

I have it and I've never had any issues with it. I don't use it super frequently though and use it pretty much exclusively through the smart tv app

The worst part about it is that HBO has an exclusive deal with Samsung, so the app isn't native to any other smart TV

Yeah I haven't had too many issues. Once or twice it'll crap out but nothing like what you're describing. I will say it is by far the slowest streaming service though. Like the lag is soooo bad.

I use the PlayStation app and it's been fine. Menu is a little laggy but that's it.

Disney+ is bizarrely the app that sucks shit on PS with frequent freezes but I think they fixed it at some point.

Peacock is also notably bad with buffering

No issues with Netflix, Hulu or Prime though

we have a roku tv that natively has it? or are you not counting it since it's based off roku?

Yeah I meant using it through the built-in apps. I basically have to use a Firestick exclusively for HBO Max on my LG TV.

Roku is built into some brands of TVs, just like webOS is built into LG TVs, Android TV is built into Sony TVs, and Tizen is built into Samsung TVs.

I basically only have problems with aps that don't let me window the video on my phone...which is most of them. Netflix and YouTube know what's up.

I use HBO Max on a Samsung TV App and it works fine for me.

Peacock is probably the worst streaming app out there though. Just a mess that is impossible to navigate, and it takes forever to buffer.

Hulu ads are way louder than the show, and it always starts off at the episode that we just watched instead of the next one

Peacock buffering is terrible

Amazon Prime's UI looks as old as time itself

Disney+ randomly switches to German sometimes

Do you have an apple product? You could use airdrop on a LG smart tv. I tried it once although I didn't like how it ran so I just went for my PS4 instead.
