Street Fighter, DB Fighter Z, and Tekken have more fluid combo windows and while MK11 is really fucking good, it's always a pain in the ass getting over a 4 or 5 hit combo.

Do I have to git gud or is it an actual thing?

I havent played MK11 yet, but it always felt weird to me in MK3, MK9 & MKX how you could enter move inputs prior to previous moves even coming out yet.

Like with Street Fighter, you need to enter the inputs in real time as you want them to come out. In MK, I could just press 5 attacks in quick succession as part of a combo, and theyd all come out.

I take it MK11 isnt like that?

I can't speak for the previous MK games but in 11, your button inputs have to be chained in an exact split second window between buttons or else you just lay single strikes at a time, leaving you defenseless for counters. So yeah because of that, it kinda seems like your fighter's reactions are on a delay after you execute a combination.

its got a weird timing. its like you just dial it in as fast as you can. the combos link oddly, the animations don't fit the button presses.

MK is a polished turd.

I don't know how you can have cinematic graphics yet the animation, direction etc is so badly done.

It's like a kid given millions to make a diorama when he has no arts and crafts skill.

the newer mk games feel incredibly stiff to me compared to the other major fighters. it ruins my enjoyment completely

No they weren't even good then lol.

They just filmed video of actors and put them in the game.

It's taken them 25 years to learn that when you jump, you bend your legs.

So it's not just me then...

I mean I'm trying and I can pull off the special moves no problem but doing advanced things like amplified special move + 2-hit combo are impossible.

I do enjoy the game and graphics are great on PS5 but yeah the mechanics compared to Dragonball FZ feel so slow and rigid. Idk if Netherrealm designed this shit on purpose to discourage skilless button mashers but I feel like I end up doing that anyway because of the input delay >_____>

MK9 was great at it, you could just punch in the whole combo and as long as you did it fast enough it would still execute everything you punched in. they decided to change that in MK11 and it makes it so much harder. doing the training with Raiden almost made me break my controller.
