They look awful no offense to whoever worked on it.

Even with this launch, we're not done upgrading and improving the site at all. Our next steps over the summer will be to update the underlying code that runs Answers and the forums, making massive improvements and updates to contributions, updating the non-gaming boards (with even more throwback styles and layouts), and much more.

Oh wow. Yeah, that really needs a fix.

I'm not going to complain if the design is different even if I hate it, but losing features that was in the previous version is always awful and I don't understand why it happens every time with every redesign.

How is it reddit? Reddit has distinct boxes to show separate threads, and even the comment section has the avatar and enough spacing to show separate comments

Edit: Oh you meant in the topics themselves, I was talking about the home page where it lists all the topics

Another annoying quirk I've noticed is that trying to jump to the latest message posted in a topic doesn't work if it's more than one page long now; it just takes me to the first post of the topic. Makes trying to look at new posts in a topic I'm following a lot more cumbersome.

instead among the flood of game info at the bottom of pages i like how for Smash Ultimate it listed with Amazon - BRAND NEW $210 and wait what that's not how much Smash costs... is that for a console? *click*, given a search result for "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Special Edition - Nintendo Switch (Console Not Included)" and the results are just a bunch of Switch accessories

maybe it's a Canadian bug but if it can't even get Smash Bros. working correctly...

I looked at them when they were in beta and didn't like them. Submitted a feedback ticket but I don't think I worded my concerns in an understandable manner because the response I received was "click the gear if you want to go back to the more classic style" which was a bit of a concern but I was more concerned with how bunched up and lifeless everything looked.

Hopefully now that it is live they'll get more, err, constructive feedback and make changes to keep the "soul" of the boards intact because as it stands now it just seems like some random post and forget shit posting place.

I really wish so many websites wouldn't have such radical redesigns every few years. It feels like they're downgrades way more often than not. Combining the game boards by platform could've been implemented without all the extra nonsense.
