If you NG+, the Codex resets, apparently? Otherwise yeah it'd be fine and would take me like 5m to get. So I'll get the Prothean entry, but I won't have the others.

I'll have to do some searching around the Citadel for the entries, that's all. I just wanted all the trophies done in this run.

Oh never mind, turns out I got it and wasn't looking in the right place. Trophy popped when I picked up the Keepers entry

That was a lot of stress over nothing, then. All trophies down now except beat Ilos/beat the game

Pretty sure the abduction triggers after 2 missions/assignments, so yes.

EDIT: Actually, I'm pretty *confident* that's the case, but I'm not 100% sure, so I don't wanna commit to that answer when there's potentially a lot on the line.

I thought this part was really silly. It rarely works when a game decides to punish a player for taking their time in a genre that emphasizes taking your time to explore everything.

It has always been my understanding (and what every guide says) that you can only do the one mission after completing the IFF, and that needs to be Legion's for a perfect run. Mine triggered after one mission this time for sure.

It's typically two missions/assignments, but IIRC even landing on a planet to shop or whatever counts and can screw you.

You can do [Party Member] Loyalty + Legion Loyalty after the IFF and be okay. It's only 1 mission if you did all the Loyalty Missions prior to IFF in which case Legion will give his immediately and it's only 1 mission allowed. At least in the OG ME2.

I personally like to do Tali + Legion after IFF for that reason because bringing Legion to Tali's is amazing.

Also if you do all the loyalty missions and only have Legion's left and you activate the galaxy map before activating Legion it can bug out and kill your crew anyway.

That's what I'm shooting for. Before I literally did everything before Reaper IFF, this time I want to at least use Legion for Tali's mission.

I love ME2 obviously, but it's kind of crazy that they got away with the abduction plotline, which is dumb as hell

The contrivance to get the entire team off the Normandy so it can be attacked and virtually everyone kidnapped - except Joker, because of course - is imo worse than anything ME3 did except for the original ending. Goes to show the imbalance of an internet hate mob where Tali's face being a stock photo (oh no!!!!) somehow gets more shit thrown at it.

Man ME1's final mission really sings. So rare to see the crew interacting with each other as they do just before you land on Ilos, the Vigil plot dump, then the crazy visual of the Citadel space walk and Sovereign on the horizon. The cutscenes look great now too, especially when the Normandy destroys Sovereign.

And then that transition into the best ending credits theme in a video game. Really satisfying end that makes you forget the relative emptiness of some of the preceeding 50 hours.

Can you get all the "Use ____ 25 times" Trophies by manually selecting them from your allies? Because letting them automatically use them clearly doesn't count.

It does count, unlike in the original. But you have to have an actual target for most powers and can't just fire them off whenever. Fortunately the Citadel fast travel stations count as targets.

The only one this doesn't work for that I know of is AI Hacking, which has to be done on an actual enemy. Not sure if it has to be a synthetic to count. Neural Shock might be similar.

Yeah I knew about the fast travel exploit but not that AI hacking and neural shock don't count, which led to some wasted time

AI hacking needs to be done on a synthetic, Neural Shock on an organic. But the game counts the Mako as an organic. So bite the bullet, take Kaidan on a mission with you and have him Neural Shock the Mako 25 times. You can save/reload (faster than waiting for the cooldown).

And yes, you have to manually command it for it to count

Mmmmmmm gonna have to disagree with you big time there, the decisions paying off was the most important think for the franchise in my book, thus ME3 being kind of a shitshow.

But you've made it clear you love ME3, so obviously different priorities!

The worst of it is DEFINITELY artificial Robo Rachni Queen. That was the moment back on release where I realized they gave up and just needed to get the game out.

I mean, regardless what you think about this principle in a vacuum, Bioware absolutely sold the series as Your decisions matter! So they have themselves to blame when gamers feel like their decisions dont matter.

Mass Effect 3 did poor in that regard, but I will say that The Walking Dead Season 1 also came out that year to massive critical acclaim and it was worse about making player choice matter than ME3 was. I mean this has nothing to do with the conversation but it was strange to me at the time and still is, so I'm okay with random asides when half the posts in these topics are talking about the best way to get achievements anyway.

Plus ME3 will always have Tuchanka which is one of the best 'your choices mattered' convergences of any game I've ever played.

They overpromised, big time. You do have to wonder what it would have been like if EA hadn't been in the prime of their fuckiness.

As soon as they started making a big push that you could "Start at Mass Effect 3", the writing was on the wall.

But as was said in the previous topic, we should have known it would be like this after how ME2's ending went down.
