Instead of gifts of $100k (to each survivor) and $2 million in reparations, the survivors wanted $1 million in gifts to each and $50 million in reparation funds.

Seems the organizers were going to use money elsewhere and the survivors wanted all of it

100K isn't even a house in most places. These people lost their family members, homes and community. 100K is a slap in the face

Are we sure someone isn't just fleecing these old people? Chances are they don't even know what's going on.

So the government burns down their entire city, drops a bomb on them, kills their family members and friends, destroys their homes and businesses.

And a hundred years later they're supposed to accept a 100,000 check which is worth barely anything at this point due to inflation. And also 2million to fund a museum that doesnt help any of their descendents or living family members who are negatively effected due to everything in their community being destroyed and stolen from them. And theyre supposed to just accept it and be okay with it?

Over their lifetime they probably payed way more than 100K in taxes alone to the same system that destroyed them
