I greatly fear the idea of not existing. I'd honestly love if I could believe in an afterlife, but it's simply illogical.

No, because I almost died back at the start of 2020 (intoxicated driver ran a red light)

It's not that bad. What's scary afterwards is realizing how quickly life moves and how quickly you can stagnate. It's important to spend life on stuff that matters to you and to have the most complete and consistent views one can. Otherwise life is wasted.

I also am 100% convinced that there is an afterlife and that death is not the end lol.

The opposite, it's very comforting to me. Death is natural anyway. You should accept mortality and just focus on trying to enjoy your relatively short mortal lifespan.

I realize after the fact I won't know anything. I won't be aware, just like I wasn't aware for billions of years before I was born.

no i used to be really religious when I grew up, then went to college and became an atheist for a while, then kinda just "YOLO" and didn't really have any specific views due to just working all the time and not caring. and then after that accident, learned a lot of stuff!

i don't care about abortion as a subject, adults don't need to answer to a Spanish Inquisition or Morality Police for this and other stuff like this in general lol. not a State, not a Church, not an Inquisition, not a Language Police, nothing.

in general I understand pro lifers who genuinely believe life is sacred, because they in their minds perceive it as being a threat against something genuinely sacred/special/alive. So in their simplicity I can forgive them if they protest it, because from that point of view it's a sincerely held believe and they just need to be reminded that American society only functions if there's freedom for the individual to make their own choices.

There's nothing that currently suggests we exist outside the confines of our brain activity, so any speculation as to a continued existence independent of the brain is just fantasy. It's not impossible there exists some unknowable function of the universe, but it's illogical to believe it exists.

There's nothing that tells you that you are your brain activity, either. Because logically you cannot observe yourself from outside yourself. So if you began to exist at one point in time, without your control and with antedecent causes that may just be illusory...it cannot be illogical to say that we could exist again in another time or another place.

Just like we exist this time, could happen again since it happened once. ;)

Like, you may not like it as an idea or may find it strange, but that doesn't mean it's illogical.

From your point of view, reality could've come into being at the same time you did, and it's all a simulation and you're just here for the ride. Like The Matrix.

As a mortal human, yes, of course, I do by reflex very much fear death itself. Since then I am done with, over.

But I do understand that death is just the beginning of what comes next. I 100% ascribe to reincarnation and the ongoing cyclical existence that is occurring outside my personalized human body.

Just the prolonged, painful part. I watched my dad die of cancer over the course of a year (he was dying of it before then but he spent the last year or so bed-ridden). I had to carry him to the bathroom and stuff, he was so weak. His whole body just stopped working and he was wracked with constant pain even with medication. Couldnt eat.

I spent some time in that state myself, with infected lungs and esophagus so bad that I couldnt eat either. Became really weak as well. Lost like 50 pounds. Its not fun not being able to do basic stuff like eat food. I dont want that ever again.

By contrast my brother died randomly one night in his sleep. He died way too young but it seemed much more peaceful than what my dad went through.

I'm not afraid of my death itself. The physical pain associated with it does concern me, but I guess it's inevitable.

Now, the death of my close ones, even pets, terrifies me, to the point that when I realize sometimes how fast time passes by it takes a toll on me.

Thanks homie, yeah it was a rough couple of years. And then it seems like the pandemic hit almost right after all that, lol.

Im personally healthy now though. And I actually weigh more than I ever did before the sickness, ha.
