Ok so from Reans conversation with Angelica, today I learned that Marquis is pronounced just how it looks. I've pronounced it as Marquee in my head since I've seen it. Probably when I was 13 playing fire emblem or something. So only been mispronouncing it for over half my life now, no big deal...

I go back and forth on Lloyd and Rean. I think Lloyd's best moments are better than Rean's, but Rean is probably a more interesting character overall.

I could have sworn that Shirley was a year or two older than Fie and that when Fie tells that story about the time she met Shirley back in Zephyr she describes her as such but I went to the wiki and it gives them as both being born in 1188. Didn't show a source for Shirley though so idk.

Fie is 15 at the start of CS1 though, that's definite.

Don't forget you can use Turbo and spring with the horse to run ultra fast.

I think it was interesting, with the main flaw probably being that it focuses on Gaius? What an uninteresting guy.

Really? My memory of that fight was that it was unwinnable, I didn't even know you could really hurt him meaningfully. What difficulty are you on

I actually like Gaius a lot in general but yeah he's not really a character that shines under a spotlight, more of a complement. But yeah I always abuse turbo mode in trails games. Probably the only reason I've gotten so far through the franchise lol

But idk I just feel like nothing's really happened and I haven't learned anything new. I guess knowing there's another buffer state between Calvard is nice to know but not exactly worthy of a whole chapter then again I am not done with the chapter yet so there's still time to spice it up. But the first half of it has been a lot more boring then the first half of the other chapters

Nightmare

Yeah he took hardly any damage until I hit him with defense debuffs and got strength buffs on everyone. It was still a slow burn but I was comfortably in control of the fight, but I guess after a certain number of turns it just goes into the next scene

I had to look it up. I remember now that it took me a few tries to get that +2 AP. But I still don't remember how I did it kudos to you though.

There are a few other fights in this game later on that seem unwinnable but actually are doable so take that spirit you had now and don't give up

I finished up through most of the Nord Highlands last night, have to finish out the ancient quarry but it was getting too late so I quit right before the boss. The story is starting to pick up at least so that helps kill the tedium of the plains a bit, but Alisa and Reans heart to heart was actually done pretty well sans the party eavesdropping trope.

But God damn does millium have the most annoying voice acting I have ever heard in my entire life. I am absolutely dreading having her around permanently. Why did they think this was acceptable to ship and cause actual physical pain to their listeners? I'm astounded. At least somebody was able to overtake Elliot as the worst character so good on you buddy.

I did not prepare EP charges before going all the way through the place where you encounter Campanella, the Professor guy and the Knight girl. I was making decent work of the Chimera boss until he got 3 turns in a row and almost wiped my party. Couldn't recover from that.
