I only played the ps2 version which I don't think had any but idk if that's considered successful

Man I played that shit on that bulky ass hard drive. And it was the first rpg I got lost in.

I am not 100% sure but everquest on pc may have had no private instances originally. I want to say instances didn't come til an expansion called Lost Dungeons of Norrath

so really just 2. Im concerned about the new PSO2: New Genesis game. All open world. No instanced areas but those urgents that pop up every few hours.

There was this 2D Zelda-like MMO I played that was pretty good and I don't think it did instances. Forgot the name of it, was around the mid 2000s.
