WOO HOO I BEAT KALAVINKA STRIKER!



Man even with overdrive that was rough, well mostly because of phase 4's countdown BS.

Thankfully you only have to beat 1 Kalavinka Striker to get the mission's rewards, so I can fight the phsyical one whenever (I do want those Red XIII Hero relics though....)

Not looking forward to Sandworm if I had this much trouble with Overdirve's help

I'm working my way through the labyrinth. Now at the D260 fights. So far, so good, but things will definitely get more annoying on the harder difficulties, where I'll absolutely need to switch RMs between fights.

Plus some irrelevant USBs. I only have one ticket left now.

Okay so it seems like I want to use Azure Undending for Yuffie in slot 1 for her sync. What about slot 2?

Since command 2 is setup and command 1 is unleash, I usually go with the "gain more blinks" 5* in slot two. Reflecting Pool is the name, apparently.

With Galuf helping out Biggs I was able to beat Quetzalcoatl. 3/16 5*s down!

I'm in the hardest labyrinth dungeons right now. It's getting rough with parties without DMT/MM. Also Ramza is a boss here? Didn't expect that.

Might actually need to start switching equipment etc between fights, ugh

This Labyrinth is LONG. I heard it was but I didn't realize quite how long it would take to do every stage. That's kinda cool though. I'm on a 220 now and my teams are definitely not optimized, I threw them together as fast as I could to auto the easy levels. I'm running a physical holy team that crushes everything quick with Lightning and Orlandu's 3x instant actions. Then I'm running my earth magic team which is decent but has 2nd string RMs and stuff. And then I'm running a IX realm team which is going to have to be replaced because I don't have a realm chain (at least not on the team, I might have one I can sub in?)

The good news is you can at least save the parties so you just have to load between fights.

Wow, AASBs of the Realms continues: 6 new AASBs!
This time it's Laguna, which will be great in a few months when I will finally have his chain.

Yeah I need to figure out the outfit thing. There are some things that are definitely pretty cool about these labyrinth dungeons, but these are some pretty major negatives:

1. As mentioned above, they are super long
2. Switching stuff is really annoying (especially magicite since even if you optimize itll be in the wrong order)
3. Inevitably youre eventually going to forget to switch stuff, and if you do you might just not even have stuff equipped in some slots because you were using it for another team for the previous battle (for the last set I was just swapping my historia crystal and I accidentally went into a fight with my C team without one... thankfully it was one of the easiest possible bosses in that dungeon, but if it was one of the harder ones it probably would have been a wipe)

At 400 difficulty it looks like I have to actually pay attention, one of my teams was about to wipe and I had to restart and do the battle manually. In another fight they won but I had multiple characters dead and only got expert. It might be easier to just load a favorite each time and then not have to pay attention during the autobattle. The biggest issue is my healer not starting with MM I think.

Went through and set up outfits for labyrinths. Going through one afterwards trying to switch every time though I accidentally used a party missing some gear/abilities/RMs probably like four times! Thankfully it was an easy labyrinth that I was just repeating for the daily, but ugh... this really needs an auto-equip-outfits-to-selected-team feature...!

I also managed to get torment 3 Gilgamesh down to like 15% with an all V team! I can probably finish him off if I swap Barth out for one of my good dps (actually I probably would have finished him off as-is if Galuf hadnt had to be on dispel duty along with being my main dps)

You can get an 11X ticket from beating a 6* magicite. I used it on the wind banner and I got Lunneth's quickcast wind lmr, at least it's 10+ attack on my chain holder and he's part of my A-Team in labyrinth.

Also anyone just try to avoid fights in Labyrinths because you're sick of dealing with loading times? (well more to avoid dead end loading times after a fight.)

So I thought this was "an Earth labyrinth" in some way but I'm not sure that's the case?

Like should I just be making 3 good teams, 3 good earth teams, or should I be making 2 good teams and one is earth (for the super boss) or am I just completely off base thinking earth even matters?

I think it's only an Earth labyrinth in that the characters that are getting artifacts are earth characters (and I think the final boss wants you to use an earth team?)

The labyrinth in general discourages you from using single element teams since you can easily get into a battle where a boss absorbs an element without you knowing ahead of time

You can also edit your teams between each dungeon, so no reason to make an earth time for the final boss until you actually fight him

No only the superboss is "magicitey" and he's in his own little special area where you just fight him, and the artifacts you find are tailored towards Earth specialist users.

Other than that bring who you feel comfortable with dealing with 60~400 difficulty bosses.

You can stall on Titan for meter and go ham on him after you have enough. Someone beat Ttian with just lensable stuff and Zack's chain.

Here I was making 3 earth teams and being like "darn this is tough to fill all these slots!"

I almost think this game mode would be more interesting if that WAS the case but hey, loot, right. I'll play it a bit before I pass judgment.

Not having much luck with my attempts to take down Phoenix. Extra annoyingly he seems to consistently kill my entire party at the same time, so I cant reset and save my stamina!

Phoenix attacks you constantly for damage that is, by Magicite standards, not terribly scary. (Not per hit, that is. It adds up fast.) The Lionheart RM ("gain more SB when damaged") is fantastic in that fight. If you have two good healers, bring them both, and give one Dr. Mog's Teachings and the other one Lionheart.

Ah, the time-honored strategy of complaining that I cant beat something and then pulling it off immediately after worked again...!

(I was being dumb and not wearing fire resistance accessories, which turned out to help a lot)

So I attempted physical weak KS and I was surprised how well I did! Got him under 80%!



Maybe I can beat him if I can get Galuf and or Dorgann sync/awakening 2, but that's for another day, I got the +5% damage armor for Rinoa and Red XIII so that's good enough for now.

I don't think it's been mentioned in this topic yet, but if you're looking for an efficient Labyrinth auto-team for high difficulties, magic holy is the way to go.



This team solo'd the entire D500 dungeon on auto. No need to switch teams or equips. Fatigue barely matters, since Mind isn't affected. The Def, Res, and HP penalties aren't really noticeable either. Agrias damage drops a lot at high fatigue, but she's mostly there for imperils.

Soul Breaks that were actually cast:
Cait AASB(honed)&Glint+
Pecil Dyad&AASB
Rem AASB&Sync (Sync was only used against the final boss)
Agrias Sync
Deuce Glint+&USB3

Thanks, that's a good tip. Mind not being affected by fatigue is lol. No chain needed? Also wouldn't it make more sense to use Rem's sync first to get the quick ATB more?

I also made a holy mage team to for Labyrinth

Mog with MM uses Awakening 1 (prefer Mog over CS because he outspeeds Rem)
Pecil Used Wodin then Paladin Force
Rem with DMT uses Sync and goes ham
Arc uses Glint+ then HA
Deuce uses AcM and Goddess's Paean

Rem Sync might be a bit better, I guess, but it really doesn't matter much. Unless I had the free SB boost before the fight, Rem and Pecil AASB casts usually dealt the finishing blow. Maybe a single ability cast under AASB at worst.

Chain isn't necessary at all. Cait AASB and the massive imperils from Agrias let Pecil and Rem cap regardless.

Holy team trick is great, I got through the 500 level with it with no problem. I need to grind some more for Rinoa and Red's gear and then I'll try to take on Kalavinka Striker. I should probably set up the drop detector but that's a pain so I'll just play as intended for now.

Don't waste overdrive on Titan, he's one of the easiest 6* magicite and can be beaten with just lensable stuff and Zack chain.

Wedge, Alphinaud, Deuce, Tyro, Papalymo (filler)

I also just don't have enough wind magic abilities to go around atm (especially since the summons have fewer uses for a given rank), so Tyro and Papalymo are mostly useless aside from putting up a wall.

Im also not sure Im using Wedge optimally... I have his sync, awakening, and LBO, and have basically just been using his sync (since Ive typically either won or died by the time it runs out)

Papalymo isn't going to do anything in the fight, you have a huge damage penalty if you character doesn't have the weakness infusion.

You can get Terra's wind usb in the Record Labratory, but it's probably better to wait till fest and see what the free draws give you.

x11 ticket: Eight BSB :(
single tickets: Bartz sync, nothing else.

When I saw the sword I thought it was Terra which would have been much better. But at least I got a new sync I guess.

First attempt on Kalavinka Striker (magic), I got him to 20.8%, and that was without looking at the AI thread (since TFMuphy hasn't made one yet). This doesn't seem that bad if you can beat Odin.

KS is basically Ramuh with more HP and new labyrinth gimmicks that will become standard later.

That last phase though is the biggest hurdle since it's a DPS race.
