MiHoYo can't keep Noelle's stat scaling going if they increase the level cap

You can't keep allowing +140% of one stat (DEF) to be added to another (ATK) indefinitely, especially if both stats can be buffed independently as well.

Think about it, you can also add food:

+300 ATK Adeptus food
+300 DEF (+420 ATK)
Bennett
Pyro Resonance or Geo Resonance (or both)

Even at Lv 90 you can add 720 ATK with food alone lol

Not to mention her Breastplate and heals scale off DEF, meaning she inadvertently gets Zhongli level shields and 1000+ HP heals to every team member with every hit. The scaling is ludicrous.

Out of 100+ pulls I only got 3 Yanfei, C2 constellation. I of course keep getting constant Diona and Noelle who I've had c6 since both of their respective release. So I sorta feel your pain. I'm actually 50 pulls into next pity and haven't gotten anymore constellations for her. But I was lucky to get her.

Yeah I didn't mean that for superconduct since superconduct itself does almost no damage.

Although I'm not a fan of reaction less comps I am curious to see how far they push Eula dps wise to make her match up. They did similar things for Xiao to compete by giving him crazy numbers to make up for being anemo. This will be our first 5* physical oriented dps character, don't mention Keqing she's obviously the electro queen.

I didn't get any 5* during my 40 pulls, so that means somewhere in my next 10 pulls I've got a guaranteed 5* right?
I'm pretty sure I've pulled 10 or close to 10 with free acquaint fates since I got zonger though...

Gotten yourself the character you wanted, made one of the best support characters in the game more useful, and gotten yourself 40 pulls closer to a guaranteed 5* in the next banner? Seems like you lucked out to me.

If you had pulled Zhongli and you really didn't want him, I could see being bummed out. But as it is, you got the character you wanted AND your chances of getting Eula aren't much worse than if you waited.

Absolutely yes. Diona's shield is a debuff remover.

Yeah because she heals and cleanses in addition to shields. Also applies Cryo, which has the best elemental reactions overall. This makes her a super versatile support unit with something to add to almost any team.

It's crazy to me that the only Hydro Melee DPS character is Tartaglia. I mean you could kinda use Xingqiu as one, but he's really much better as a sub DPS

You don't have to win at all to get coins for primos. Might take more rounds but I really don't care about experiencing an unfun event. And I don't give a shit about the specific challenges for mora.

Probably usable, but sucks way too much stamina.

Original stamina cost: 50 stamina
Stamina reduction per seal (normal attack) collected: -15%
Stamina reduction per seal with C1: -25%

So 3 seal charged attacks drain
27.5 stamina at C0
12.5 stamina at C1

Before C6, Yanfei's most stamina-efficient (and vaporize) playstyle is collecting 3 seals then charged attack. With skill and burst you can spam it a lot.
Her optimal dps fighting style (without vaporize) is 2 seals then charged attack, and it'll drain your stamina in no time.

I had this happen to me in the teapot yesterday. walked right through half of the front deck of my house before it loaded, then my character acted as if it were climbing up an object to get to the door.

You'll get there! I found that ascending her past 80 made her DPS explode, even if she wasn't that much higher level. I haven't sat down and done the math myself, but I can only assume that if she has a talent that adds +140% of her DEF to ATK, and her DEF goes up with ascension, there must be something to that.

Speaking of which, is anybody willing to let me go to teapot so I can buy something? I normally never play multiplayer, but unfortunately this stupid adventure guide for the teapot requires me to in order to progress

So I sat down and did a rough estimate of the mathematics behind Noelle, and I came to the realization that if the game raises the level cap and doesn't change her mechanics, she would literally break the game.

Imagine a character that:

Got +1.5 ATK scaling for every +1 DEF -INCLUDING- DEF buffs
Every talent increase further increases that scaling by 4%
Got DEF% with every ascension
Has the highest base DEF in the game
Has a weapon that increases DEF by 50%, that procs a buff adding ATK by 40%, DEF 40% and an additional ATK 60%.

Assuming you're at TL 13 (the current cap)
Lv 90 R5 Whiteblind adds
50% DEF (+70% ATK)
Proc:
40% DEF (+56% ATK)
40% ATK

That's just the ****ing weapon!

The math literally makes no sense. It can't continue. The only reason it's not a concern right now is because the game doesn't scale past level 90. But I guarantee you, if it maintained the current scaling rate, at level 100 her DPS would far eclipse any other single DPS in the game. And that's assuming the 1.4x DEF to ATK scaling doesn't increase, but it would actually increase to 1.6x at Lv 100 making the exponential growth even worse.

Yeah, but they'll find a way to stealth gimp her anyway, because they can't have a launch 4-star eclipsing all their shiny new waifu murderbots! At the very least, they'll take her off the "beginner" banner and reduce her appearances as a rate-up on the character banner.

No, in fact I think the normal attack only affects her physical damage.

The burst is actually an elemental calculation based on her defense and attack, in which it takes a snapshot of her current defense, multiplies that by a certain value and adds that to her attack.

It's kind of like Fischl's Oz, in that the DPS is essentially a snapshot of what her stats are like when she casts him.

EDIT - I just reread what you said, and I see what you mean. Yes you can ignore the attack talent, however there is a period of time where Noelle only does physical damage until her Ult charges.

Increasing that talent will improve her damage while her ult is down.

Interestingly, though, Noelle is one of the few characters who can switch out with her Ult active, and it will be still active when she switches back in. This allows you to charge her Ult with Fischl's Oz while her Ult is still up, and if you have enough energy recharge, it will remain up pretty much forever.

It's very hard to get enough CRIT%/DMG on gear since you basically can't get it on her weapon or through her ascensions. I would recommend finding out which of the two (DMG or %) you are lacking in sub rolls, and get the retracing bolide headpiece with that stat.

I have a crit percent headpiece, and the best I can do is 50% crit rate and 90% crit damage.

Frankly I can't help but wonder if +DEF% is actually better, though, because of its exponential scaling.

At 1.5x ATK, it's almost like it has a built-in crit.

I actually wish I had figured out this math earlier, or I would have tried to really build her more significantly in

Soft pity is after 75 pulls so you'd have to count all your pulls since when you pulled Zhongli. I pitied Zhongli once and now I'm 50 pulls into next pity but I think I'm going to stop doing pulls till Eula comes out.

The nice thing is that I lost my last 50/50 so if I decide to pull for Eula, I'm guaranteed to get her in the next 50-ish pulls.

So I'm playing the Hide & Seek event, went in with very negative first impression...
And I'm loving it. It's incredibly fun for a few hours, until you get used to it and it becomes repetitive.
Mihoyo did a good job IMO

As someone who hates competitive multiplayer games and especially hates asymmetric competitive multiplayer games, I really don't even wanna give this one a chance so I can show in my own tiny way in their internal analytics that I don't like this kind of thing.

It's not even really competitive though. It's more like wait around 5 minutes to accumulate coins for free primos. You don't have to win or do anything besides wait for it to be over.

Just afk if you are a rebel. If you lose as a hunter you fucking suck. I won all of my hunter rounds sub 1 minute.
