I still greatly wish Switch kept the Virtual Console route for its retro library. Virtual Console on both the Wii & Wii U were libraries that Switch Online couldn't possibly dream of attaining and very well worth paying for if I could (for the record, Wii VC set the SNES pricing at $8, which Wii U VC still sells them at now).

not to mention U having N64, Wii, GBA, and DS libraries available :(

I wish they did this too, but they realised they could get away with selling 20-30 year old games individually for more money and they're not looking back!

That said, the glacial pace of their online library is stunning to me. Much like the Switch interface still only having basic black/white themes and their lack of Netflix etc, I don't understand the rationale there.

yeahhhh I can't imagine FF6 going for $8 MSRP anymore. Mega Man Collections are at least priced well now compared to $5/$8 a pop on VC though!

I also remember getting my Switch thinking man i can't wait for a an update on the themes and eshop layout. 4 years later oops.

... PS3 retro pricings come from the same Wii pricing era, It was literally close to shutting down this year! Wii just did so much sooner, 2 years ago :(

(N64 games were $10 on Wii, are still on Wii U)
