Cut it up into steaks, and divided it into 3 baggies to marinate/season.

Just made the first baggy, about 1.3 pounds of pure steak.

Jesus it's good.

Gibsons in Lacey WA has insane deals. They had Wagu sirlion steaks the other week that were to die for, but these probably topped them. I have 2 more meals like this in my future as well.

Just wish I could get King Crab legs anywhere (for less then like $50 a pound).

To me YUM is priceless, so there is no conversion rate:)

And the steaks were so good, though I do think on review, that the Wagu sirlions had a bit more flavor, just they were not as tender.

And if you can call Filet Mignion at $7 a pound over priced....I wanna know where you shop.

It's funny, Rib Eyes were always my go to steak. The lip around the rib eye, is still probably my favorite actual part of the cow. It's SO good, but you only get a tiny bit per rib eye.

The middle of the ribeye is good, but not as good as Filet etc, and honestly cost wise you get so much bone/fat etc on a rib eye your getting much less meat per pound (even boneless rib eyes although not as much).

I still like em, but I'm finding many other cuts of meat that are as good, and often much better ratio of meat to fat/bone etc, so far better cost wise.

The Wagu stuff is seriously expensive at Haegen though (I go there instead of safeway alot for my meats due to better quality), but when Gibsons has em on sale it's so freaking worth it (heagen is like $20/lb or so, Gibson like 7 lol).

Wish Gibson would have some ribeyes on sale though, they have such good quality, or maybe some year they will have wagu ribeyes...maybe for like $14 a pound or something. That would be a real treat.

Even the cheaper cuts of steak can still be great, if you treat them right. I often get the "chuck eye" which is like the poor man's ribeye

For grilling I actually really like short ribs and flank steak

I always thought flank steak wasnt worth it since it isnt as sought after, but really you just gotta prep and cook it right and you end up with some amazing steak

Weve been buying filet whenever its on sale at Costco, and - when on sale - its frankly costs about 2/3rds as much as McDonalds for us. ($20 meal vs $30)

Cover with salt, sear the outsides for 2 minutes each, then stick directly in the preheated oven up to 130ish degrees. Excellent.

I bought like 2.5lbs of steak for $3.80 and made it taste better then 90% of the steaks I have ever eaten from a restaurant.

Marinating and Reverse-Searing is dope yo.

Only problem is I ate it all in one sitting and now I feel fat.

Yeah, I'm a fan of flank steak or flat iron steak especially for tacos/fajitas, but it's tasty flat out as well, or with stir fry etc.

I've been doing the beef short ribs as well, but in the oven. I slow cook em a bit and they are like a super delicious bite sized pot roast. 4 of em is about perfect for me and that is usually what they come in when packaged. It was only 5.99 as well at safeway (per pound) but they just upped em to 7.99 so I have not been buying em as much (since I have had other great options for that price point lol).

Yeah, it's flat out hard for me to buy steak when I go out and eat because the price for a decent steak vs the price to make one at home is almost worse then any other food (I mean pasta is up there, but the sauce (if good) at least takes time and costs a bit).

Good 2 pounds of steak at home? $15 or so (often really good cuts etc).

Not even a pound (12 ounces so 3/4th of a pound) of a similar quality steak eating out, without being able to choose the steak yourself.....24$+ (often over 30), not including tip/tax etc.

So the equivalent meal at home for $15 would cost somewhere in the vacinity of 80$ if I ate out (yeah I eat too much steak heh).
