In non-Giant Bomb news, the new Fire Escape cast is four hours long and talks about games for maybe an hour of that. I love a ramblecast but this may be a bit much. At least with Super Best Friends/Castle Super Beast, they just do the rambling at the start then talk about games after, here it is in and out constantly which makes it confusing. Though the actual main concern is Dan burping on mic.

...There's just something super wierd about seeing this as the lineup for a Giant Bomb watchover, especially without Jeff there. I like most of the guys, but...I dunno it just does feel right. I guess Jeff's presence made it less obvious, so when the full crew is there on a piece of content minus him it really stands out.

The state of play was better in this regard Jan fully embraced the host role. Probably helps that the majority of them care more about Horizon than they do Sonic

I liked it a lot to be honest. Jan was a really good host and it was fun contrasting his and to an extent Bakalars excitement with everyone elses confusion and/or bemusement. I havent watched the Horizon one yet though.

Also specifically for LTM's case the state of play was better because horizon is something Rorie is knowledgeable and passionate about so he doesn't detract from the conversation

I never understood the Rorie hate. I'll take the bland, one note guy over the nails on a chalkboard experience of listening to Abby or Ben any day

I can see people being bored of sober Rorie talking about WoW or Magic, but inebriated, party-time Rorie is one of the best personalities on the site

I feel like Jeff is really trying to reel back Jason's. VF5 net code stanning without being rude because he know most people think it's shit.

Honestly any comments about netcode being good in the first two or three months of a fighting game is meaningless, outside of international connections. There are enough people playing that the game can give pretty much everyone a decent match. Its when the numbers thin out a little bit and the game has to look further to get you connected to someone that the netcode really shows its true colors.

I will say I've played it extensively the past 2 days and it seems just fine

but I was mainly playing people only in the US and I'm far from any VF expert to know if the connection is affecting my frames.

Because of how it uses google relays when you play international players it connects you to a midpoint between the two of you, but somtimes it decides that midpoint is in the middle of africa and you're trying to connect to a server there.
