Outside of the thirty year old crisis when you realize half your friends are pretty much middle managers at their work, have a wife, kids and even a mortgage payment while you are still working the same crummy job you did in your twenties and just barely moved out of your parents house, peachy.

Wait, are you envying the first group? Being a middle manager parent with a mortgage isn't as glamorous as you might assume. :)

Yeh, it sucks watching everyone grind end game content and even creating and leveling thier alts when you are stuck leveling your character alone in the badlands with shity gear.

Probably a 6. I'm a bit better than indifferent, but the fascistic response to COVID that shut down the nation has been getting me down especially since it's looking like this could drag on for years.

objectively things are going better than they have in a while -- i like my job and in less than two months i'll be going for a surgery i've been waiting to get for a really long time.

however i am definitely getting to the end of my rope with this pandemic and finding myself increasingly frustrated with how badly my area has been dealing with it. the only thing that gets me through it is that there are vaccines now, but even that is frustrating with other countries doing a lot better

overall we'll say about a 7

*shrugs* Its been worse. On the good side, we got a new lawnmower despite Californias stupid regulations and I have a new computer. On the other, mom is being sued by a moronic tenant we had. Trying not to think about wildfires.

Ok Sunny

Nah, Sunny is mostly a combination of Freshman philosophy and New Age BS filtered through the lens of lots and lots and lots of trolling. My view is more rooted in actual psychology.

The concept of "happiness" is an abstract construct, and it honestly wasn't a significant concept for most of human history. The idea of the "pursuit of happiness" is itself relatively new, from the past few hundred years or so (if anything, most prior generations were far more concerned with the idea of "minimizing suffering").

There've been at least a few studies done that suggest that the mere concept of happiness itself is a major factor in making people unhappy. The more you chase the idea of happiness, the less likely it is that you'll ever actually BE happy. Because "happiness" is such an unquantifiable, subjective thing that it's easy to convince yourself that you don't have "enough", or that you're failing at it somehow, and will thus increase your own general anxiety.

The more you can let go of the idea of happiness itself (and trying to chase it, and live up to unrealistic ideals of what it means), the more content you're likely to actually be in your life.

I work in a hybrid food service and retail situation for just above minimum wage. My cooking skill is good, but it's wasted on a mass of people who appreciate so little of that compared to stuffing their gullets with deep friend, sugar-coated meat of any quality. Also: stupid questions galore.

The only apartment I can afford at the moment is subsidized housing, so you know my neighbors are a class act, with top marks going to the druggie downstairs that randomly starts shouting repetitive obscenities loud enough for half the building to hear at inopportune times.

I've been getting so little work done on my other books so I can get more of them out instead of just the one so far. Most of the writing I do manage to get done is on my lunch breaks at work, which are way too short.

I'll let you guess how happy I am.

I'm fine with my current job as a welder.
I repair underground ore wagons and everyday I drive almost one and a half km downwards below the surface.
It's neat and I get more paid than usual.

While it's a fun and rewarding job, I still feel miserable for various reasons.

People doesn't start conversations with me unless I'm the one initiating it.
Yes I have Aspergers but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy chatting with people.

And what's worse is that I'm so crushing on one of my coworkers. She's so cute but she's totally not my type as we like wildly different things(which is honestly for the better).

As for stuff at home, I wish I could move in somewhere with my girlfriend but her idiotic mother has ruined so much for us which really sucks.

7/10

I'm content in the day to day, I don't need or want much out of life. My life isn't especially exciting, but I also have very little stress.
