Im about 20 hours in and still havent won a BR.

Got a few victories in the arena at least.

getting close to being able to purchase my first legend, aiming for Valkyrie

Arenas is a new 3v3 mode brought in with the new season.

Yeah 3v3 on a much smaller map.

You are given points each round to buy your load out, rather than scavenging for weapons.

is the cross play pretty popular? Ive only noticed pc players so far

Hmm that seems a little interesting. I like the idea of buying a load out and whatnot, since sometimes I feel like I really get into a zone when I get my perfect weapons but sometimes that grind to get there is tough.

Also I have been solo queueing in duos trying to find some decent players but it ends up with me solo dropping a vast majority of the time. But I kinda like the challenge. I'm not that good but it's exciting when you actually wipe a few duos.

The way it works is that console players and pc players each have their own pool of players. But if you are on console and you squad up with a pc player you play in the pc pool of players

that makes sense. Im sure console players are at a bit of a disadvantage when going up against M+KB.

So I appreciate they only use it when necessary

Honestly, when I have played a few rounds with PC friends I haven't felt like I'm at that much of a disadvantage. Hell one of the streamers I used to watch/check in on his YouTube once and a while started as a console player and moved to PC but kept the controller and he still wrecks at quite a high level.

fair enough. Im sure once you get really comfortable/proficient on the controller, it doesnt matter as much.

maybe a bigger deal with Siege or something, but who knows. Could work just the same.

I played a lot of Apex with my brother and a friend a year or so ago. It's the only battle royale game I've ever actually liked. We've gotten some good wins, but they're pretty hard to earn.

For pubs, the map rotation is every hour or 2(not 100% sure in the time frame) just at the start of every season the map with the most significant update is up for a week or 2 so everyone can play it and get a good feeling for it.
For ranked, the map changes every split.(so every half a season.)
For arenas, I think its every 15mins.

enjoyed it on release, did maybe 100 hours? got a few wins, but as with most BRs rando squad wins get harder and harder, as the n00bs leave and the hardcore stay.

Such an unfortunate season to start maining BH, BH no longer gets assists for their scan.(really only relevant in ranked, but still sucks for those BH players)

I love Apex. I just hit level 500 last night. I also think this is one of the best seasons theyve dropped. Valkyrie is going to be one of my mains (which is a good thing because I dont play many mobility legends). If people ever wanted to play Id be down. Ive gotten Platinum the last 3 splits on PC, though I dont really care if youre not at my skill level. Giving it your best is certainly better than what randoms do a lot of the time too... like when your arena teammates dont listen to you when you say to just hold ring and you lose even though you personally have done almost 4.7k damage.

I mean they did a complete rework on him now. I think hes significantly better than he was on launch, especially now that his decoys have footsteps. You have to be really smart with him to dupe though.

I think his stealth revive is his best trait though. Like it doesnt require any level of skill to do.

Nah, its not as skill based and is rampant with hackers. Movement is cool but I think the balance of Apex makes it a far better competitive experience.

the sites Ive looked at have him as B tier, but Im sure it depends on how well you use the mirage.

octane also looks fun, but maybe not the best legend for a new player.

Maybe B tier for pubs, but easy E tier in high level ranked and pro, which is what I base it off of. But honestly you can make any champ work in pubs. In terms of Octane, he is actually A tier, and can be flex'd for Wraith

Crypto still gets scan assists because using Neuralink actively puts his drone in danger. Tbh I dont even try to scan enemies, because having the drone alive is much more valuable given all of the other things it can do

Octane has always been popular, and hes pretty meta too after all the buffs hes gotten. The recent adjustment hes gotten makes him a little easier to kill but still hes great.

No, Crypto still gets assists for drone scans. Their reasoning was that BH players basically were getting free KP without having to commit to fights for one scan, whereas Crypto still has to actively control his drone for setup and they consider that committing to the fight.
