So why is it considered a comedy The original definition of "comedy" and "tragedy" weren't "funny" and "sad", they were more indicators of whether or not a story was going to have a happy ending, or if the main character was going to be broken by the gods or their own hubris and suffer in a way that the audience can sympathize with. It's the definition mostly applied to stuff like Greek plays and Shakespeare. Though you could also chalk it up to cultural differences.
