When calisthenics are a thing is there really a reason though? I just want to get out of the apartment more often around people. Like I have friends but I want somewhere that has new people rotating through.

In Pennsylvania they barely closed. It was just for a short while. And we had a relatively strict response compared to the rest of the country.

Anyone CAN do exercises at home. But some people prefer to use the machines, and some people have more motivation to exercise if there's a place they can go and possibly interact with people as well.

Its a good idea to at least get a small barbell and weights just for your house.

Get that first and see how you feel about lifting heavier and heavier. Just doing a little bit every day is already gonna put you at like 5x the daily amount most people exercise

I guess you can do it if you feel its worth the cost. Depending on the gym, they could have a ton of stuff you could do there and machines to work many different parts of the body. And some that work multiple parts of the body. I dont really use many anymore. I just go to run on one of the three tracks there. And mainly just to get ready for my PT test. And since its free, I dont really have to force myself to go...

Yeah, its why none of this makes sense. I just do plyo at home, and am doing moving for cash, so dont really need the gym.

Just make sure its a clean place and always wipe down everything before you use it. My wife worked with a woman that contracted a flesh eating virus from a local gym and it fucked up her entire life.

A story like that would have been in the news.

Link or it didn't happen. Flesh-eating viruses are almost always contracted in bodies of water, not at a gym. Staph? Sure, maybe, but not necrosis and s---.

Its possible it was in local news, but not national. Also, not sure if this is Meads wifes co-worker, but here is a story about a woman that got it without being in water.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.prevention.com/health/amp28447165/california-woman-noelle-guastucci-flesh-eating-bacteria/

Also, its states in the article that most cases dont actually have to do with water or whatever, apparently...
